I took my last test this morning, Health Differences 2 and Passed!!!!! Oh what a relief! Now I will wait for them to update my file. I have already completed my physical, my CPR, and got my passport photo. As soon as they give the green light, I will complete my application and do my background check. I even requested my CPNE study guide and made a copy already. I am also registered for Lynn's workshop in August. Now all I have to do is clean up my messy office. I have books and EC study guides and papers everywhere.
I want to thank everyone on this board for your support and encouragement. It took we a little over 6 months to take all 8 test plus 2 repeats. If you fail a test, don't get too discouraged. Move on to the next test and pick it back up later. Now my journey starts allover again as I prepare for the CPNE. I will probably be hanging out more on the EPN board on Excelsiors website. Again thanks for everything!:heartbeat
i did not know about the physical exam and now i have an appointment on july 10, and i dont know how long they are going to take for the the titer results. I am on a blue card with the local county hospital, its cheapest version of health insurance. I wanted to pay out of my pocket but since there is lab work involved, i dont want to take a chance with the bill they are going to hit me with. any suggestions. I am done with all exams except english and fcca, which they dont even offer yet. I guess I can start preparing for CPNE and put myself on cancellation list, once iam eligible. do anyone have an idea, how long does excelsior take to process an application and give a date for cpne exam.
I applied for the CPNE on June 3rd and my application was accepted and sent to RPAC June June 6th. They work fast. Try to apply soon before the FCCA's come out. Also I think it takes 48-72 hours for the titer to come back.
thanks lunah and NC girl35. Lunah, how was the test. Do they tell u if u passed the exam right there. Did u take any workshop.
which is the best workshop to take. I think there are atleast three out there including excelsior. Please tell me all the resources needed for preparation for this test, like flash cards, cd roms, vids etc. all i have right now is the lisa arends cpne cd. This exam is really making me restless and nervous and nauseous and iam SCARED.
I don't recall how long it took to accept my CPNE application but it was approx. 2 weeks. I never got a test date, I took a cancellation date after waiting for 7-8 months. No workshops! I only had two weeks to prepare.:wtosts:Anyhow, I passed all my labs and PCS first time through although I felt doubly stressed because of the "time crunch". But, I still managed and I would suggest the Flash Cards for sure. Helped me alot!
Find someone who can mentor you and guide you through your skills and look at your care plans. I had great nurses at work who enjoyed helping me prepare.
Good Luck!

My documents were accepted the same day. It took me about 5 months to get my date, and about 7 months from my application (November 6) to testing (June 13).
Oh, and that wasn't a cancellation date -- I wanted/needed time to prepare!
