I feel sick

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took the NCLEX this morning. I had between 150-170 questions...I wasn't paying attention. I walked out feeling extremely dumb. The questions were so hard!!! I'm about 99% sure I failed.

I had priority..which patient would you see first. Which patient would you call back first. Delegation. Several select all the apply. Lots of patient teaching. No calculations. Which Dr. order would you implement first? Which Dr. order needs further clarification. A few infectious control. Lots of med surg. I also had "you need to clear rooms for incoming patients, which patient would you discharge first?"...following by 4 answers that all included very sick sounding patients.

Nothing was straight forward. At times it was hard for me to even narrow it down to two. And I've never heard of anybody getting 150 questions. I studied Saunders and thought I was well prepared.

Ugh. I don't know how I'm going to function the next couple days. So much is riding on me passing.:o

Thoughts? Reassurance?

I will keep you in my thoughs, Hoping you passed!!!!!!

NCLEX SOON

Trisha,

Sorry to hear about your experience. It's definitely a rough test that will mess with your head. Hang in there though. Sounds like you had a lot of higher level questions like priority, which is usually a fairly good sign. People can pass at any number of questions - for RN, between 75 and 265. Keep us posted!

I hope that you passed..Just because you had that many questions doesnt mean that you should feel dumb..My friend took her test and took that many questions and passed today (we check the online license)..she felt the same way you did..I will be keeping you in my thoughts..I take mine Thursday..Ill be thinking of you!!!!!!

I had 220+ questions and passed, I felt very numb when finished. I did take lots of breaks but something happens to your brain after you go over the 75 mark, hand in there !! I can also tell you I didnt' think priority was the majority of my questions i felt like it was so even back and forth between easy and hard. Just hang in there girl we are all rootin for ya!

Thanks guys. I'm calmer now...praying for a miracle.

I hate the fact that I've worked so hard throughout school, did well in school, and it all comes down to this crazy test!! Eeeeeeek.

I know what you mean nurse trisha, I am going through that "omg Ihave been out of school for 12 years" feeling. Like what willthey think at the hospital??? oh my I think I am going to have a nervous breakdown before I am able to apply for a job.....LOL

Good luck to you Trisha. I hope you pass.

took mine today...Your test sounds much like mine only that i didn't have any "select all that applies" 'cause i prayed against that. It was filled with "initially, most, first " etc. But i finished with 75 questions.

I know it's kind of hard but let's just keep positive and wait. Hearing that someone passed with 220+ and even 265 is a good consolation to let you know that number means nothing.

All the best to us!

Trisha,

You got a lot of priority/delegation questions, and that's a really good sign as they are the higher level questions. Hope this helps you! :)

I'm sending good thoughts your way and I hope you get good news soon!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed. Hang in there.

Every single one of my classmates whom I've talked to have passed. All thought it was hard. I'm hoping I'm not one of the first to fail. Still waiting........
