I failed

I didn't pass my final... therefore I didn't score a high enough average to pass the class... therefore as of today i have been officially removed from the nursing program. I THINK I AM GOING TO DIE !!!!

This is so heart breaking for me. I applied to 6 nursing schools and this is the only program that accepted me. Now this opportunity is over.

Oh, it can't be over! What kind of program are you removed from if you fail a class? Please, more details!

I know this feels like the end of the world for you. But please just try and remember, that whenever a door is closed, another opens. I believe that these things happen for a reason. I know that is of little comfort to you now.....

Please, feel free to PM anytime. We are all here for you. You WILL get through this :)

PLEASE PLEASE don't give up. There are other options out there for you I just know it.

Was it an RN program? How much longer did you have to go?

I know you must be feeling really down right now but don't give up the fight if it's really what you want.

:)

Please do not feel as if it is the end of the world because it is not. Can't you apply again after a certain period of time? I thought if you failed one class that you had so many chances to take it again. What class did you fail? Just because you failed that class does that mean that you can never get into another nursing program again? How does that work? I know that you feel bad and are sad and disappointed. Go ahead and cry and get it out of your system and once you are through crying. Get up and find out what your other options are. I know that every place is different. I know a lot of instructors will warn you and let you drop it before they let you fail it were you given this option? It might put you behind but they do not completely put you out of the program. I think they give you 3 chances. Keep us posted.

We are here for you....THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!!!!!!

This my first semester in a BSN program. I took Intro to Nursing and Assesment I this summer. The program offically begins in the fall. Well I needed a 75% average to pass Assessment... and since I didn't score very well on the final exam- my overall average was a 70%. So I can't continue on into the fall until I pass Assessment I (which is only offered in the Spring & Summer)

After speaking with the assistant dean of the college she says that in January I have to petition to be let back into the program, re-register for Assessment I and pass it so then I can start the following August. Which is a whole year from now.

(((((hugs))))). i don't know exactly what to say but to get back up and try again. you can still take some classes until the next class starts this spring, which will be here before you know it.

go and petition to get back in and keep the faith!

i agree with lpn, futurern on this one. we only fail in life when we choose to be quitters, so keep the faith and keep on keeping on. ((((((((((hugs)))))))) :kiss

I'm sorry. Can you try again?

Well, here is another way to look at it: you already have knowledge of what the course, book, instructors, study requirements, etc. are like. So, you will be that much more prepared for next summer, and your grades will be much better.

Might I suggest that you go ahead with your plans for school and take any other courses besides the Nursing ones, so that you will have less of a load ahead of you? You will still be working "toward your nursing degree."

I would suggest going to your instructor and finding out exactly how you did on your final---what areas you did well in and what areas you didn't do so well in. As Cathy said above, now you know what the course is like, and more importantly, what the instructor is like. So during the fall, take some other classes, study your weak areas and get yourself into the class in the Spring so you can pass with flying colors and continue on towards your goal

Good luck and keep us posted on how things are going for you :)

Don't give up. Try again. If you want to be a nurse keep trying. Some people just don't test well. I'll be praying for you. And no it is NOT the end of the world. Tomorrow will be better.

Hi,

I noticed that you were in FL... Just like me. I will attend Barry University in the fall... If it's not too much to ask of you which school are you attending?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't look like you are kicked out of the program... You just won't start this year. Since you said it was the first year of a BSN you have plenty of other classes to take meanwhile. Petition to get back in the program while taking the other classes and take the Nursinf Ass. class over, second time will probably be a breeze since you didn't miss by much...

Don't give up...
