I cannot ever seem to pass my NCLEX!!! No matter what I do and how hard I try!!

Published

It's getting ridiculous already on how I keep trying for my NCLEX and still not working! What am I doing wrong?! I studied EVERYTHING!!! And i mean everything. I feel so dumb already. Right now I am in limbo.

Should I jump right back in with reviewing because I want to take the test again after the 45 day waiting period or take a break? I don't want to waste my time with waiting and at the same time I want to get my license this year. I am so tired of trying this is my 7th time and i still failed! I am running out of hope! It seems like God never wants me to pass! I am so hopeless and frustrated and so tired of studying.

The last test I took I ran out of time. I took the review from Delmar's and passed all my mock test. I can't seem to get a hold of my test anxiety! Can someone out there please hear me out. I am so desperate to the point where I'm an inch away from giving up

I'm very sorry for everything you've been through. I commend you on your dedication to being successful and getting where you want to be despite your personal struggles.

Please don't listen to the negativity and don't give up! You've come too far and you CAN do it. I agree that you should seek help for your anxiety and PTSD issues before you attempt the exam again.

Good luck with everything and keep trying!

never mind the family and patients, have you ever been ripped a new one by a doctor?! nursing may be the heart of caring, but i think our badges secretly read "punching bag" that everyone but us can see.

Oh yeah! I do agree with this... when I was in my country nurses were treated badly. I can handle patients and families because they are in a very stressful and emotional situation but I can't understand doctors treating nurses like that. There was this one time when I was working that the nurse told the doctor the medications he is prescribing is contraindicated with another he is giving the patient and then he got really angry and made the nurse still give to the patient. Guess what? the patient almost died and I don't know what happened to the doctor after that.

Take care of your health! nursing will beat you to a pulp, so definitely don't make it your priority while you're still sick. good luck in your future, harsh words or not, in the end we all want what's best for everyone.

Op,i found one mistake that i think you are making thus the repeats my friend...you said you got your result back and will focus on infection and pharmacology:DONT DO THAT.You have to regroup yourself after getting help and study all areas a fresh again but more efforts on infection control and pharmacology. Also, dont use the same materials you have used before.I wish you goodluck.

I don't know if you used the breaks but use as many as you can when you test again.

my bio dad has gotten worse with his abuse (I am not playing the sympathy card), due to that I had to go on xanax but had severe personality changes so the doctor tapered it off until I was able to completely go off of it again and these all happened at 3rd year of college. By the 4th year I was diagnosed with MVP and since then I was put on propanolol and being the stubborn woman that I am I stopped taking it. And the whole reason I came here was to escape my father.

If you talk to him at all, ever......STOP. There is no reason to allow abusive people into your life, regardless of their title. I don't talk to my mom or my brother anymore. It's sad, but when people are dedicated to dragging you down and unapologetic about it, why in the world would you keep interacting with them? You're not going to fix him, so move on and take care of yourself.

Passing out during an exam is not ok. As a nurse, I deal with FAR MORE stressful situations everyday. If you can't get a handle on this now, passing the NCLEX will not help you, you won't be able to maintain a job.

PLEASE DO NOT give up. Nursing is such a Widely Diversified Profession, there will be a 'Niche in it for you. I "failed" THE x-RAY PORTION OF MY INTERNING EXAM AT Cook County General Hospital, then Passed it Quite Successfully the Next Semester. I went to School with Ph.D.'s, Masters Candidates and B.S. degreed Students from all over the World , in Chicago. You WILL have an "edge" over the many others whom you are competing with over THIS TEST. Sure it IS necessary, but Your own Individual experiences will surely make up for a few "points" on an Exam. Stick with it,.... you will Prevail. Dr. Jeff Brunswick,Ohio 44212

Hello jjgrlh0318,

The first thing I want to say is, "Be Encouraged" you graduated from Nursing School which means you have already completed the hard part. I took the NCLEX 3 times before I passed and so I know what a disappointment it can be and test anxiety is Real!! However, please do not give up on your dream, keep trying, keep pressing forward. Once you pass, that's all that matters!! Once you get your first job no one knows how many times it took you to pass the test, unless you choose to share that information. One of the best nurses on my unit shared that it took her 10 tries before she passed. I know that sounds crazy, but she has been a nurse for 7years now and as I stated, She really knows her stuff and she's great at her job!! Just don't give up!!
