Hurst Q-review questions

Published

Hello,

Has anyone taken the Hurst review and done the questions? If you have already passed the nclex-Rn, can you tell me what scores you were getting? I think Hurst review is great, but i don't have anything to base my scores on. Any advice would help.

Thanks in advance

How many times can u retake the test? Is it only once for test ( 6 ) offered by hurst. Like if I take it and then my friends can take it after me or no? One 1 time?

You only get one try for each test.

Freaking out too... scoring 83/135 & 74/125 (66% & 58%) on my first two Q-review tests. I am wondering if I should delay my Monday test date? The sections I did poorly on the first time, I did well on the second time (and reverse for the parts I did well on lol). Should I delay or just keep reviewing until my test date and pray a lot? I'm just worried if I delay I will not get any additional study time since I have four kids on summer break and two exchange students coming next week....and I don't want to put testing off too long.

overwhelmed!!

I take my NCLEX really soon and I just took one of the six Hurst Review exams for the first time. Mind you, I worked tonight and was a bit tired. My eyes feel like they're about to pop out :wacky: haha. Probably wasn't a good idea to take it, but I did it anyway and finished midnight with a score of 97/125 (or a 77.6%). Not sure if this is a good score as some of my percentages for different categories were below 75%; Psychosocial Integrity was 66.7% and Physiological Integrity: Reduction of Risk Potential was 73.3%, but the rest were above 75%! In any case, it's definitely helped me realize that I've underestimated myself WAY TOO much. It's kind of relieved my anxiety I've been having ever since I graduated from nursing school. Hope this score is a really good indicator. Regardless, I'm definitely not gonna stop studying.

Good luck to everyone :cat:

I have an average of 61% is it worth passing??? I am worried nclex in a week. Somebody please reply.

Late I know but I was still looking at all of these articles before I tested and was looking for some updated comments for 2014, so I took the online hurst review the week before I tested, and really didn't have time to look over all the material like I would have liked. I did however watch every review lecture and did five of the q reviews, my scores were 87, 91, 82, 80, 92, out of 125. I took the test and it cut off at 75, I felt like I did horrible but after doing the pearson vue trick I got the good pop up, and two days later I confirmed through the quick results that I had passed. Hope this helps ease someone's mind a little. Also I had been out of nursing school for 2 1/2 years before I tested the first time, all I did was got the hurst review and NCLEX mastery App for my iPhone. It was the RN test.

Hi LukeLindsey!

Thank you SO much for your feedback! How often did you use the Nclex Mastery app?

For nclex mastery I just did all of the quiz questions and read the rationales with every question I think it took me around two weeks with an hour or two a day.

Did all the Hurst Review. Took all 6 Q-reviews. Average 85.67 with low of 80 and high of 91. Just took the NCLEX and got the "good popup."

Congratulations swang125! Tell us more about your HURST study plan - how long did you study and did you use other resources besides HURST (Kaplan qbank or other qbanks)? I took HURST last week and thought it was great. I also have other resources: NCSBN, Kaplan Qbank/Qtrainer, Saunders (5th edition) and HESI RN comprehensive (from nursing school). Would you say HURST provided you the nuts and bolts (content) you needed or did you use other resources and find a combination helped? Also, if you want to share pertinent areas to focus, and how many SATA you had that would also be great.

Thanks so much for your input and advice! Congrats again. :)

I only studied the Hurst review. I studied over 40 hours a week for five weeks. All areas seemed covered. I had over 10 SATA questions.
