Hello,
Has anyone taken the Hurst review and done the questions? If you have already passed the nclex-Rn, can you tell me what scores you were getting? I think Hurst review is great, but i don't have anything to base my scores on. Any advice would help.
Thanks in advance
hi guys my friend who took the hurst live review with me only did 4 of the hurst q banks and said her score was only twice above 75 she took the nclex about 1 ago and the computer shut off at 76 questions and she also passed!! im taking mine in about a week and I will let all of you know!
I know this is an old thread, but figured I'd give my input since I just recently took the NCLEX and used Hurst review.
When I was taking the Q reviews, my scores were low: 68/125, 72/125, 62/125, 67/125, and 77/125. The number that Hurst says is the "median" for those who passed the NCLEX was 84/125. I thought I had been doing well on the tests while going through the questions and I really felt like I understood most all of the core content, so getting these scores on the tests was very discouraging for me. However, I decided to not push back my test date and just make sure I was well-studied and read through all those rationales and understood them. I ended up passing the NCLEX first try with 75 questions :)
So don't feel discouraged if you aren't getting the best scores on those Q reviews! Just make sure you read through and understand the rationales and you should be fine. Just be confident that you know your material!
Hi Nursing Friends,
I just wanted to let you know to not let low Hurst scores scare you. I took the NCLEX on Saturday and found out I passed with 75 questions. My Hurst scores were as follows:
70, 71, 70, 69, 70, 71
The most important thing I can tell you is to get used to the way questions are worded, and what they are looking for. Also, make sure you are reading rationales!! You can, and you will pass this test!
So what happened?! Did you all pass with those scores? Are those the percentages, or the number correct out of 125? They want us to be getting 84/125, which is 67%. That's a big difference between the two values
I just took my first one to see where I should direct my studying energy and got a 61%, or 76/125. im feeling like I could probably schedule my test for pretty soon. What do you all think, now that you've experienced it??
Best of luck!
Yes, I would say that you are likely ready for the NCLEX. My Hurst scores ranged from 70 - 76. I was pretty discouraged and not at all sure that I would pass the actual NCLEX - but I did. I would encourage you to do as many of the 6 Hurst exams as possible before your NCLEX. I found that I got more comfortable answering the questions with each practice test. By the time I took the NCLEX, I was comfortable answering all 265 questions for the 5 hours it took me to complete the exam. In my case, I would say feeling comfortable was the X factor in why I passed the exam.
Hello Everyone,
I have completed 4 of the 6 hurst q reviews. My scores are as follows: 72/125, 74/125, 81/125 and 75/125.
I test on October 19th. At this point I have studied as much as I can to the point where I feel my brain is fried. I haven't studied these last two days because I felt I needed to rest. There have been moments where I feel as prepared as I can be but then there are times I feel like i'm not ready. I guess most of us will never feel 100% ready. I will begin again tomorrow right where I left off. I will do the best I can on test day because that's all I really can do. I will keep everyone posted when I get my results.
