  1. You'd better get used to it because we now have a president who does not read,is a cable-news addict, and uses twitter as his primary means of communication.
  2. Newsflash: Health care is a business, and many nurses are simply tired of being used as exploited labor.
  3. Yay!! I'm so pleased for you. I know the feeling you have well.
  4. In truth, I have seen this self-sacrificing behavior in women in all areas of life - both professional and personal. As a man, I sacrifice and I am modest, but not in the way the author describes. I never sacrifice stopping to care for my basic needs because if I don't care for myself, how on earth am I going to care for anyone else properly? So, I always hydrate and go to the bathroom we the needs arise. I always take a lunch break unless there is an emergency situation that requires my presence, which is rare. As a diabetic, I always take my meds when it's time to do so. And, I always make sure I am properly rested. Frankly, I think I am a better clinician for it.
  5. Yes, I would say that you are likely ready for the NCLEX. My Hurst scores ranged from 70 - 76. I was pretty discouraged and not at all sure that I would pass the actual NCLEX - but I did. I would encourage you to do as many of the 6 Hurst exams as possible before your NCLEX. I found that I got more comfortable answering the questions with each practice test. By the time I took the NCLEX, I was comfortable answering all 265 questions for the 5 hours it took me to complete the exam. In my case, I would say feeling comfortable was the X factor in why I passed the exam.
