  1. Thanks for clarifying that! I def did it after the tutorial, and while question #1 was on my screen. It just helped me to relax tremendously. And was glad I got a large dry erase board to write and doodle my thoughts and labs and motivational quotes. I was in and out of there in an hr and half.
  2. Not good at all. But I did about 150 questions a day and learned tons from rationales. Qbank averaged 70 Qtrainer 1 :67 QTrainer 6: 57 I didn't do the readiness or the diagnostic tests.
  3. Oh wow. Coulda been on that instruction/informational sheet. I was so nervous, I barely read it. I thought I was reading it, or tried to. And then when I sat back down, I tried to think about what the hell it said, I couldn't think of a single thing it said. Lol.
  4. Well guys. Sorry to hear that. We got palm veined scanned, and pockets turned in/out, the whole 9. They said we can write anything on our boards and if we needed another, to raise our hand and request another. No one mentioned anything about no "brain dumping". This is the first time I'm hearing that term. Cute! Lol. Well, I knew the info, it was just de-stressing and relaxing for me to write. Bc I write so much when I study anyway. It's all good. I passed and I'm glad y'all passed as well! :-)
  5. I found this prayer from someone on this site awhile ago, if you know the person, tag them. I tweaked it a little. But it helped me tremendously and I repeated it about 3x daily the week of my test: NCLEX Prayer! "Dear Loving Heavenly Father! I am so worried and anxious about my studies. I am scared of my exam and I have absolutely little confidence on my own wisdom. Lord! You have promised to give wisdom to those who ask You. So I have come to You with faith and great expectations. Father! I realize the importance of my studies and I look to You for help. I totally rely upon You, Master. For You are the treasure house of all wisdom and knowledge. Even now Lord, I find it difficult to cope up with all the subjects and my memory power often fails me. Please strengthen my memory and grant me Your grace to grasp my subjects easily. Without Your help and guidance I can never achieve any success, Lord! I completely surrender myself to You and plead for Your divine guidance. Please remove this fear from my mind, bind this anxiety, and fill me with confidence. I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! So I depend on You Lord. Be with me during my exam and hold my hand! Keep me in good health and peace so that I can do well on my NCLEX. I thank You IN ADVANCE for helping me Lord. I take & CLAIM success in Your mighty name. In Jesus name I pray. Amen." You guys will do great .Read the questions carefully. Slow down. Breathe. And read the question again. Decide what it is asking. Rock it! It's already been said and declared. Your steps were ordered in success before you even scheduled your exam. You've been preparing. God got this. Just put forth effort and do your part and He will see you through. I passed 2 days ago at 85 q.s
  6. RunBaby, I too, felt like Kaplan was harder than the NCLEX. I felt like wait...I may be failing this bc the questions weren't extremely difficult. I just had to stop, breathe, and think through each answer. Of course it felt like I guessed on a few. But overall, I felt good going out the testing center. I also used kaplan questions. No more than about 150 a day. I wrote down things to remember and tips and tricks. And when I got to nclex, when the first question popped up, I didn't even look at it. I wrote on my dry erase board for 15 minutes. Lab values, a prayer, pregnancy info, child's play toys, endocrine things, tips and tricks, "slow down", "breathe", assessment or intervention, Stacey, what is the question asking" I wrote ALL of that down on my dry erase board. And when I got stumped on a question, I looked at my dry erase board and answered to the best of my ability. It really decreased stress. Made me think "see, you know something afterall" Good luck to you and your hunny
  7. Good deal! I loved Kaplan. I got discouraged a little with my low QTrainer and QBank scores, but you really learn and take from the rationales. The Nclex lay out looks JUST like Kaplan. It's blue and everything. That really relaxed me. It's a familiar screen, you've seen for weeks now. LaCharity PDA book helped also with thinking critically about who you would see first. But I've only did 3 chapters in that book. Thanks for the congrats!! Good luck to you and your wife. I'll be sending up a prayer for you guys!!
  8. Also, the PVT worked for me, but I'm sure that can be deduced from my recent posts. Lol. I just forgot to formally mention it. I got the "good pop up" 10 mins after my exam on Saturday 6/21/14. My name was on my states's board of nursing site today, Monday 6/24/14 around 1pm.
  9. I also agree with NCLEX MASTERY app for the phone. It was very good and neat layout. Easy to use. Lot's of questions available.
  10. Hey Dibs, The only meds I studied were the ones listed in Hurst and the ones that I missed from Kaplan questions. I felt like I had about 10 med questions on my exam. They were either straight forward or I had no clue what it was. It's ok. The goal isn't to get a 100, just to pass. And I felt likeHirst book helped bc it gives you all the core content. Doing questions and knowing strategies are awesome, but you essentially have to know what the heck the question is mentioning. So I would read a section in hurst, do Kaplan questions on that topic. Etc. Until I ran out of time, then I just hit QBank and Trainer 6. And NCLEX Mastery App before bed. About 40questions before sleep consumed me.
  11. Hey Dibs! You're exactly right! I never really felt prepared and I actually pushed my test back 3 days. I used exactly what you have. Kaplan and the hurst book and honestly, I only studied hardcore for about a week and half. I know they suggest 3 weeks or more Butu graduated May 21st and I was just OVER staring at material forever, felt like. Lol. You will do great. Stop, breathe and the NCLEX feels like just another set of Qbank questions. Go slow. Read the stem. If it asks for an assessment, pick an assessment, knock out the interventions, etc. I did not feel like the test was terrible and I think that's a good thing since I was such a lack luster studier. I wrote down down all the labs and strategy tips before even reading question one to resolve some anxiety. Good luck and I'm sending a prayer up!! You will pass!!
  12. Congratulations!!! :-) Thanks for sharing!
  13. Thanks so much, Rob! :-)
  14. Hey AllNurses! I've been on this site for awhile, stalking every post ever about the NCLEX. Lol. I took the test today, Saturday 6/21/2014 at 8am. I finished at 9:40am at 85 questions. As soon as I got in my car, I kept refreshing PearsonVue website over and over for about 7 minutes for it to FINALLY say "Delivery Successful" and I tried the trick. I got the good pop up. I understand how people are nervous and skeptical about the trick. I'm now in their shoes, wondering, hoping, and praying it really does ring true in meaning I passed NCLEX. It takes a whoooooole lot of energy to think negatively, so I'm going to think positively and think I passed and stalk my BON site for RN by my name come Monday. Lol. :) If anyone is wondering what I used to study, here goes: ---Kaplan QBank (I did about 300 questions) Poor effort, I know. But I tried my best. ---Q trainers (QT#1 58% and QT #6 67%) Lousy, I should have done more, but hey. ---Hurst Review book that I borrowed from a friend. (I did not attend the review) I read about 78% of the Hurst review book. ---NCLEX Mastery App for iphone. I did ALL the quizzes and about 100 of the comprehensive questions. My studying has been lack luster but I did do some form of questions every day. Every single day. Also, I'm a prayer and a firm believer in the Lord above. I believe he had me covered and deemed successful before I even started my nursing school journey. I just took a breath, closed my eyes, and prayed after and during each question. If I were to give any advice on which avenue to study, I would whole heartedly recommend Kaplan. The whole thing. Do all the Kaplan Qbank if you can, Do all the QTrainers if you can, Sample Tests, all of it. In my opinion, the NCLEX looked exactly like a Kaplan test. Do Kaplan, read all rationales and do questions every single day. The NCLEX Mastery App is awesome too. I would do about 30 questions before bed each night. Saunders or any book that has comprehensive content would be good. I can't say beat into your brain every single disease ever, bc the NCLEX is a bit random, but definitely learn from the rationales from the plenty of questions you should be answering! :) Hope this info helps someone. I could NOT sleep last night. At. All. I just laid there. Smh. I prayed. I did jumping jacks. I watched tv. I scrolled Facebook and Instagram. I tossed and I turned. I kept running facts through my head of what to remember and lab values and what librium and other psych meds' side effects were. I was just so wired. So I felt a little weird this morning--most likely due to no sleep. I showered, prayed, ate scrambled eggs with cheese, toast, and a full glass of water. I got to the testing center at 7, studied lab values and psych meds (My trouble area) til 730, and went inside. The rest was/is history. Lol. Please send up a prayer for me that the PearsonTrick goes in my favor like it does for everyone else!! Lol. Good luck to everyone and congrats to those who has already jumped & cleared this NCLEX hurdle! :-)
  15. Lololol. All the things you have mentioned are true, but I'm sure when people are asking that question, it's more of an anxiety thing. They want to some how tally in their head the number of success stories with certain study materials. I've asked it to plenty of people. When in actuality what works for one may not work for another. Everyone knows this. I think. I hope. But it's more of an anxiety thing and just I don't know. Maybe it puts people at ease to see people who've used their same materials have passed and so forth.
