Hurst and then Kaplan

Hello friends,

I have a quetion or advise to ask,

I failed my NCLEX on the first try and now are getting back in track of studying on weak areas and what not.

I noticed that i needed some content and also strategy, so i decided to do Hurst first all lectures to refresh and then Kaplan for question strategy to prepare to retake.

Can someone tell me if they have used the same strategy and if they have, has this worked for you ?

I just reviewed the Electrolyte and Fluids and Orthopedics because i am terrible in those, and i felt like i had forgotten so much ferom school already.

Anyway, after the review i felt like i understood so much more.

[COLOR=#003366]deimysd.vigil Kaplan SATA they were very hard I remember when I did those and I get very low scores! As long when you answer any SATA think about it yes/no never pick an unknown answer! Good luck praying for you! Relax before and after exam! Remember you are doing your best you worked for it ! :)

Thank you, i will try to relax today. I am studying but im doing it because in nursing school thats all i ever did even the day before, so i will be doing the same thing today.

I did love Hurst but I also used Kaplan content review and Saunders if I didn't quite understand kaplan and the 35 page study guide. I too failed my first attempt with 265 and took it again yesterday and had 265 but I passed this time:yes: you can do it and you pass good luck and god bless.

Hey Guys-

I am so fereaked out i dont kow what to do anymore i feel like i know nothing right about now. My trainer scores so far

QT1: 57

QT2: 55

QT3: 53

QT4: 65

QT6: 61

QT5&7 will do next week

Sample test 1 and 3: 60 and 70%

PDA CH. 1-17 60's-90's% the rest next week

Please any good advice will help me!!! Thank s in advance

your scores are near 60% you should be good! stay positive and keep practicing and try to apply the strategy you learned from Kaplan! Good luck! are you taking your board soon?

Yes i plan to but i dont know after this, just feel i need to practice some more. What is your intake on exam cram?

FunkyRN2b my friend used exam cram she told me questions were much easier than Kaplan but I am using NCLEX Mastrey I love the type of questions and how its divided based on body systems!

Okay i will take a look at it. i definitely need to answer questions on that specifically

i used the NCLEX mastery app, although i only answered about 58% of the questions, i did find it very very extremely helpful on my content lacking. I dont think i used strategy on those as much as what knew.

and Kaplan - everything about Kaplan is right, the Strategy Tree and the way it is played out. the NCLEX looks just like the Kaplan and the questions are laid out just like Kaplan so it is the software that most relates to the NCLEX.

At this point, if you dont feel confident, i would not take it, i know thats probably something you dont want to hear but i did the same, i wasn't ready at one point and i rescheduled for the week after, i wanted to make sure i went in there fully confident and full of energy knowing that i had given it all my own. Now every person is completely different, so it all depends how confident you are, i wasnt so i needed some confidence building too along with some content too.

Please let me know if i can be of any help. (Hurst was a HUGE HUGE HUGE help for my content building)

Thank you for caring, the exam was nerve wracking off course, but i felt like the Lord was with me the whole time, i got so many SATA about 35-40 and the rest who do you see first or who do you give meds to first? 75 questions so I hope to the Lord that I actually have passed it :) I will keep you posted, tomorrow i am supposed to find out my quick results Fingers Crossed :)
