HRSA 2021-2022

Updated:   Published

I haven't seen anyone start a thread about applying for this year's HRSA scholarships. I am waiting to see if I am accepted into a school in IL (fingers crossed!) and then I am going to start my application process for HRSA. The program I am applying to is a 16 months ABSN that starts in august! what about you all?

Have you been accepted some where yet? Still in the application process? Already started the Scholarship application?

^ As I understand it, as long as you aren’t overdue (which forbearance wouldn’t be), then you should be fine.

I’ll also edit in here that my ABSN program is roughly 30k tuition and maybe 35k if you include books and things. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone waiting to hear something!

Hmmm,  that is weird. I’ve never heard of that form. It’s interesting that it isn’t mentioned anywhere in the scholarship packet.

There is a form specifically for the other scholarship - the school fills it out - disadvantaged background. It is optional, but I don’t think it is available for the nursing corps scholarship. They can tell you are from a disadvantaged current situation with your EFC score.

Right that’s what I thought . I thought that’s why EFCS matter so much

Yup, okay…that makes sense.

So by the redline from the agent, even though I haven’t heard back yet I should be OK since I had the credit check?

Anyone here from NY trying to apply for the WIOA program. Bc I've done research it and called the department of labor and they couldn't help me with it. Anyone here willing to help or send a link? Please

By federal debt do you mean student loan debt? I have student loan debt from my first undergrad degree (I’m going to be starting an ABSN now), so would that disqualify someone?

Not school debt but rather like owing taxes etc.

Applicants with an EFC between $0 and $5,576 are considered to have the greatest financial need

I found it right after I left the comment. Is the 5576 an updated number? The packet says 6345$ & I circled the anticipated awards to be issued because I read one person say, that basically anyone who applies, will get it. I stand by people reaching out and asking how many have been awarded and judging it to that number. It’s one thing about being optimistic but let’s all be real with each out, and gather what we can, and share it so people aren’t getting false hope. It’s like telling a baby he or she can life and letting them jump off the roof LOL my EFC is 13789, which might explain why I haven’t gotten anything. I was working two jobs last year though so, that’s probably why .
