2013-2014 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Program

Haven't heard anything. Like everyone else, I am sincerely hoping this works out.

You wont hear anything at all until later in July. They tell you that you are in the final review. I got an email in mid-August 2010 telling me I got the scholarship. It is awesome, but you have to be 100% certain that you can find a job at an approved facility (see my earlier post). I got a job as a CNA at a hospital that was approved so I could just go right in as soon as I passed boards. In my year they actually emailed a few people in August that they had gotten it and then it was a mistake and the people actually didnt get it. How horrible would that be? Anyways, dont hold your breath for anything at all till July. It does make school much easier with no financial stress though. It really is a lot of money when all is said and done! Thanks for the heads up! I'm starting to wonder when the wheels will start turning for our year... I know not to expect anything concrete till late August, but it's so hard not to wonder what's happening behind the scenes! Lol

I'm anxious too! I'm ready to find out when they're going to let us know. I wish they would give us some type of sign.. anything. I'll take a mistaken email sent to me..lol. I also hate waiting! I've been trying to avoid thinking about it, but I have to at least do something with it once a month.. at least this is the month that we should be hearing something from them.

Has anyone looked into seeing if they've had a credit inquiry?

i made a mistake i guess august 2013 is the latest to hear from them if you get the award, September 30th is the latest you'll hear from them if you don't. i don't think my credit's been pulled, haven't gotten any notifications from my monitoring.

Hey all,

I'm waiting, too, and haven't yet heard anything or had my credit pulled. I'm in a little bit of a bind, too, since I haven't yet actually started my program. If I get the scholarship, I'll be going to an accelerated 2nd degree program, but without the HRSA money I really can't afford it, and am thinking about getting my ADN, instead. Problem is, the two programs are in different states, and I really need to figure out a place to live for the Fall now-ish....Plus, I don't want to drop my spot in either program so late that they can't take someone off the waitlist to fill it. Ugh. I'm hopeful that the HRSA folks will start pulling credit scores soon, and notify people in early August like it sounds like they have in past years.

I haven't gotten any credit checks yet either, I'm thinking if there IS anything it should be this coming week the earliest, and throughout this month too. But I really hope I get the scholarship too and will get notified in early August! Because my school is starting to ask for tuition charges for the Fall already, and I would hate to have to sign up for another loan. Good luck everyone!

Hello everyone, this reminds me so much of nursing school and waiting for acceptance letters. I was thinking not as many people applied this year and that is why they extended the deadline or maybe they have more funds for more people. I really need this scholarship.
