2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

Updated:   Published

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hello everyone,

Can someone PLEASE be kind enough to post the essay topics/questions from the 2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps scholarship application? I want to get a head start on my essays once the application opens up again for next year.

How is everyone checking their application status? When I log in I don't see a status anywhere.

You can login to the same place you went for the actual application to check status.

Hi guys! Under « Roles » on the website. Does anyone else have a new tab that states « Participant »? I was surprised to see this as it wasn’t there previously. So I just had two roles previously, just « nurse corps » and «nhsc » since I applied to two scholarships. But now there’s an added one that says participant?

I have it too, I think mine has always been there however. I’m a past participant of the NURSE Corp scholarship.

Wait holy moly that kind of gives me hope!!!

Does anyone know what they are looking for when they review our applications? I start my ADN program this fall. Is there a chance for me to get the scholarship even though i'm not in a BSN program?

I don’t mean to burst anyone’s bubble or cause more anxiety, but I looked into the ‘Roles’ tab situation. So if you log in normally under the ‘An Applicant’ section, you will be brought to the page where you can review, check status, or withdraw. On the top, there is a ‘Roles’ drop down menu bar. It says ‘NHSC Applicant,’ ‘Nurse Corps Applicant,’ and ‘NHSC LRP Applicant.’ I applied to both the NHSC and Nurse Corps Scholarships. I haven’t been in the field so I wouldn't even qualify for LRP so it’s probably just there regardless.

Now, if you happened to have logged in under ‘A Participant’ section, accidentally or not, it will automatically add ‘Participant’ to your ‘Roles’ tab. I tried it out and it added it without me doing anything.

Hope I didn’t disappoint anyone, but just wanted to alleviate anxiety to those who don’t see that tab. Not to be a downer, but there are only 155 awards available for NPs, dental, medical, PA, and clinical psychology for NHSC. I do hope the best for everyone, just hate seeing people get their hopes up ?
