2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hey y’all. I had a 4.00 GPA, 0000 EFC, 1.5 years as a special-ed in-class enrichment CNA for moderate-to-severe transitional and K-12 students. And then about the same amount of time spent as a psychiatric CNA working with vulnerable populations in a greater urban area. I was selected as a student instructor of anatomy and biology tutor at my institution during my prerequisites. Currently in an ABSN program in CA. Hope this helps.

Again, I wanna stress that I understand that this doesn’t guarantee anything at this point. Congrats to everyone else who got the email as well!

Not sure if it matters, but I also taught marching band and music with nonprofit for 7 years and then owned a tutoring firm dedicated to underserved communities in the South while i was finishing my first degree from 2011 to 2013(?). Stressed it in my essay.

I too have received an email stating that I am a finalist. I had a GPA of 3.79, and several years experience in dialysis as a tech. I am entering into a BSN program.

Congrats to everyone who has gotten an email. I'm hoping the are doing multiple rounds of emails and I will get one as well.

My EFC is 0, my GPA is 4.0, I have experience working as a medical assistant with underserved communities.

I am sure they do multiple rounds. Especially since some people may drop out or more funds may become available. I'm so excited, I hope it all works out for us!

I agree. Just like any type of award, people inevitably decline for various different reasons. Changes of circumstances, etc., it’s the same thing with waitlists for nursing schools. Sending good mojo to all ✌?

Finalist! anyone know how to complete the employer section of the w-4 form? Is BHW the employer?

Did you receive the email in the morning or the evening? Did you receive a credit check?
