Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!
Hi, my name is Kate and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I applied for the scholarship, and from what I can tell on CreditKarma, my credit has not been checked (unless they do a soft inquiry, then it won't show up on there). I have a 3.39 GPA, I am in the accelerated program at Chamberlain and I graduate in December of 2015. My EFC is 0, and I have never defaulted on any of my loans. Is there any one from Georgia? My account still states Under Review. I'm trying to be optimistic, but still trying to be real, so that I am not crushed if I get bad news. It feels good that many other people are feeling the same way as I am :).
Hey, I go to Chamberlain too!!
Well you guys my Fall semester officially kicks off today! My status still says under review. I'm thankful that I did win another scholarship that's covering my tuition bill. My classes would have been automatically dropped by the university on Friday while waiting on Nurse Corp to make a decision. This has been a very long process and having the monthly stipend would be nice but I'm just thankful my tuition is paid! This is just my opinion but it would make a lot more sense to have the application due by April 30 and notifications sent out by July 31, especially since the funding kicks off for the Fall semester. Like I said, some schools will drop all of your classes if your tuition is not paid the first week or at least have some type of pending aid. The retro pay is nice but pointless if you've already been kicked out. lol. Well happy studying all! I have OB, Pediatrics, Mental and Community Health this semester.
Hi All,
I have been reading all the post and I am like so many of you!!! I have not had my credit pulled and I am still under review. I pray I hear something before my classes start up again. Nursing school brings enough stress all by itself!! Congratulations to everyone who has heard back and good luck to all who are still waiting.
Credit was pulled... still under review... pretty discouraged, honestly. I'm Accelerated BSN in Florida.
I had to take out the max federal loan (along with Pell grant and all of my scholarships) to just cover my tuition. I am hoping to get into the work/study program to pay for books and uniforms/supplies. I have had to lower my hopes quite a bit, but only of getting the scholarship. I don't want to pay back loans, but thankfully I am going into a profession that nearly guarantees that I will be able to pay them back. There are also loan repayment/reduction programs for after you finish. We are not the first group of nursing students with bleak circumstances. Those before us made it through and so we will too.

I had to do the same as well. Not sure how I will pay my bills and go to school full time- and also study but where there is a will... There is a way...
