HRSA 2014-2015 Nurse Corps Scholarship

Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!

Anyone who had his credit checked and still hasn't hear back from HRSA?

Yeah we are in the same boat, they checked mine as I told u prior ! But still no word !!!!! And I'm in Maryland , I took out loans because my bill is due August 22

I worried about this scholarship immediately after completing it in May all the way through June! My mind managed to let it all go when I went through a rigorous summer nursing course, thank Jesus I'm alive and well and made it through! It wasn't until I'll say a week ago but really a few days earlier I started to worry and become stress. I've been dealing with the financial aid office at my school all summer and had to take an additional unsubsidized loan, and it's not enough to cover all my needed books and nursing supplies for the school year... I just want to scream!!

Also, my EFC isn't nowhere close to a 0 like many of you, so it has me scared, but I'm somewhat a long way away from the 5550 mark. Yet, my parents don't take care of me, I live in another city alone and off campus. This scholarship could do wonders for me and my life as a nursing student. We've all worked hard to get here, I know everyone is deserving. Lol I wish I could of sent them a documentary vid of my life so that they know that its real. Haha gosh I needed that venting moment.

Lastly, I'm in an ASN program in ARKANSAS. I haven't seen anyone else list that. I've seen some FLORIDA candidates. So maybe we'll count for the southern regions. I'm going to stay POSITIVE and keep hope alive and faith in what Jehovah has for me. Let's all remain positive, no more fits, stay strong. This is what you are meant to do, so it is for you!! Let's be supportive and CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS/FINALIST!!!

You're absolutely right, @MadameHarlem! Everyone is amazing for choosing this career and working so hard! Congrats to all Finalists & those that haven't heard yet, just distract yourself with something fun / positive & stay busy! It's true that these notifications come out over several weeks to a month & that can be a long wait. I had to tell myself while I was waiting for my amended EFC to go through that even if I didn't hear anything back, it is always possible to reapply next year or after school for the loan repayment program. Unsubsidized / Private loans are scary, but it's possible to get them reimbursed! Also remember, sometimes these emails go to your spam folders, so keep an eye out in all your folders. Hello all,

This site has definitely help keep me sane while anxiously waiting on a status update. So, I decided to contribute. This morning at 9:45 I received the congratulations email. I have until 8/15 to submit everything. Like most of you, I really need this and I am extremely grateful. Remember what's for you is for you! Keep believing and God bless!

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone from Wisconsin had heard anything or has had a credit check yet? It seems like the credit checks so far happened on the 30th. I know we have until the 31st to hear but the suspense is killing me! Just keep hoping I suppose. Congratulations to everyone that has heard!

Hi, I posted this earlier but it must have been overlooked because I see a couple of people posted that no ADN students have said that they had received the scholarship. Well, I am in an ADN program and received it August 1st.Good luck to everyone! Based on last year's forum, it's still very early.
