HRSA 2014-2015 Nurse Corps Scholarship

Published

Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!

i'm in brooklyn & got the email last friday, but my absn program is in maryland - not sure which makes the difference!

I'm also from NY, Brooklyn and my program is in Maryland too!

Does it make a different where your program is? Because I live in Maryland but my program is in Massachussets...

Has anyone from Missouri heard yet?? I haven't seen anyone say they've received the award from Missouri.

I'm also from Missouri...I haven't heard anything, and no one else from MO has responded to my questions about the same thing. Fingers crossed, fellow Missourians!

It seems they're doing some sort of order geographically, by states, but I wonder if there is a certain quota of awards given out per state? As in, I hope they're saving some awards for all the different parts of the country!

Me too! A good sign that we haven't heard any other Missourians receiving the award yet? Or maybe they are looking at where the nursing shortages are greatest? Who knows...

Has anyone from Florida heard anything? Also anyone who is in the associates of nursing degree heard anything?

Thank you ?

I'm hoping it's a good sign! Surely Missouri, with a good deal of the state being classified as rural, is considered a high-need state? I'm really praying, this would be a life-changer!

It seems like the MSNs heard first, then BSNs, and I haven't seen any ADN students post that they got it yet. This makes sense based on the first funding preference going to the more advanced degrees. As an ADN student myself, I'm still holding onto hope I have a chance! Good luck everybody :)

Specializes in ICU.

I live in IL but will attend school in MO, I have not heard anything either. I am going for my MSN and have an EFC above 5500, so....:nailbiting:, but I am still hopeful.

ADN programs fall under the first funding preference, along with BSN (not RN-BSN) and NP programs.

Nope, nobody that I know from Missouri has heard anything yet.

Oh, oops! Guess I was remembering it wrong. Well, just based on who has posted here and in another thread I've seen, I am pretty sure I haven't seen any ADNs awarded yet. Maybe they go in order? Or coincidence.. Who knows. I just can't wait to hear back, even if it's a no. The waiting is tough.

I agree! I haven't seen anyone from an ADN program receive it!
