Hello everyone, This is my second time applying for this scholarship and hope to get it this time around. I got accepted into Pace nursing program fall of last year but because of lack of funds I had to postpone it for this fall. My overall GPA Is 3.4 and I have EFC of 0. I submitted my application today and now the waiting game begins:nailbiting:. Wish everyone good luck!!!!
I've been on this thread constantly since applications were due so I thought I'd say hi. Can't wait til we all hear!! This scholarship would seriously change my life this year as I finish up nursing school. My husband and I just bought a house, we got married two weeks ago, and we have a two-year-old who has to go to daycare while I'm at school, so we have a lot of expenses for my husband to take care of on his own until I graduate.
I have a 3.98 gpa and an EFC of 0 so although my community service isn't super strong, I hope I have a chance. I will be sending out positive thoughts for all of you and hope you can do the same for me! :) Good luck everyone!
Congrats Aeensign!!! :) I'm so happy for you! When I read your post, my heart skipped a beat. I hope the Corps applicants find out soon for all of our sake!
And VioliNurse, it sounds like you have a pretty good chance! All we can do is hope and wait! I'm so nervous. Bills for August are already due in a week, so I had to apply for a private loan just in case. Ouch, I'll pay for that interest rate later in life
Almost in August yet haven't hear nothing from these people. Really hoping we hear something from them pretty soon because I have to pay my tuition in full by August 1
If I were you I would pull out student loans. The scholarship will repay them for your first semester if you receive it. They said recipients would hear by august 30.
I did but it doesnt cover everything. Do they reimburse if you pay out of pocket as well?
On the guidance form it specifically states that they will reimburse any for any loans taken out to cover summer or fall tuition costs. I would assume that they would reimburse for your out of pocket costs too, but you know what happens when we assume... I would call and ask.

What do you mean by out of pocket costs? Tuition, books, supplies? They will be able to cover your loans and whatever your school put as your ORC amount which most likely won't be 100% of what you spent.
