I was on the dean's list throughout nursing school and always made honor roll. I failed the NCLEX the first two times and it's been two and a half years since and I am about to start preparing for the test, but I am so nervous and do not want to be let down again. I feel very rusty and don't know how to go about preparing and studying since it has been such a long time. If anyone has any input, I would really appreciate it. I am definitely interested in Susanne's plan!!!

Hi my names Leanne! I am from canada. I completed a nursing degree at Lakehead University. I registered with Minnesota board of nursing and I am writing my nclex on January 7th.
I am nervous because the Canadian Exam is very very different. The Nclex is alot harder. I'm worried that the education is much different, and already I realized that in the states the Metric system isn't used.
Currently I am using lippincotts Nclex review on my PDA is a computer format. I also downloaded a CD version of KEPLAN study guide. I recently just bought flashcards from some website.
I cant afford to pay for a class, due to the fact I just recently graduated from Canada and had to pay to write that exam and register with my province.
Does anyone have any advice. I see lots of people are using Suzzanes plan? How is that helping? It states you have to post 15 posts first, and have more than 45 days prior to your exam. Well I write in 2 months... is this enough time???
Thank you so much!

Information on Suzanne's plan is under a different thread... look for the NCLEX forum and you will see different threads. However, before you contact her by P.M., you need to get Saunder's fourth edition... it says to NOT read the whole book but do the tests at the end of each chapter, if you are 90% or over, move on to the next... if not, go back and read the material. AFTER you have done that and you have your testing date (at least 45 days away) you can personal message here and she will send you some sort of information or curriculum, but she has repeatedly said not to do that until you do the first tip. I am currently doing the first tip since I failed on August 20th... hadn't studied since then ...but back in the saddle. No use asking her any questions until you do her first tip which is under the thread I mentioned.

Sorry, but you are giving incorrect information about my program. One needs to get 75% on the quiz without reading the chapter, if they do not, then they read the chapter and then they should be getting at least 90%.
And it takes longer to complete than the 45 days.
Mailings are only done every two weeks, and it is 48 days as a new tester and 49 days if a retester at the minimum from the mailing.
This is why it is always best to just refer the person to the stickies that are at the top of this forum so incorrect information is not given out.
okay sorry

Thanks for posting the number of days it takes to complete the program once you've finished step 1, thats exactly the info I was looking for.

I think you are need to try to forget about the last two time. You are a smart person. Buy the 4th edition saunder's book. The 1st step of suzanne's plan is to get that book and do all the question at the end of the chapters. If you less than a 75% review the chapter, but you get more than 75% move on to the next chapter. GOOD LUCK and you can do this.

You are not alone. The clinical nurse specialist at my facility failed twice and passed on third time. She was/is an amazing and wonderful bedside nurse and then she completed her education and is someone whom I greatly admire. She is so smart and such an inspiration. It's not how many times you fail, it is how many times you pick yourself back up. You can do this. Do look into Suzanne's Plan, she has such a good success rate. Take your time and study as though you have not tested before.
:flwrhrts:Good Luck. :flwrhrts:
Thank you for the support and knowing I'm not the only one out there with this struggle also helps me.
