  1. Thank you for your response & I really appreciate your help with this. I will keep you posted & let you know how it all goes!! Good luck to you too!!
  2. Your story has been very inspirational and touching. My story is similar. I graduated from nursing school Jan 2006 and unfortunately, did not pass the boards. I was on the Dean's list & a member of Phi Theta Kappa's honor society. The 1st time I got 77 ?s (not close) and 2nd time almost all the ?s & was on the borderline. I was devastated & became very depressed. I decided to take a break from the nursing field, as I worked in an OB/GYN office. I have been working as an accountant and am now in the process of again pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming an RN. The break turned out to be longer than I really wanted, and any advice would be great. I petitioned to repeat the 2 year nursing program & just found out I was accepted that will begin this fall. I'm not trying to take the easy way out, but don't want to have to repeat this all over (time, $$). I have a meeting w/ the nursing outreach coordinator in a couple weeks & am going to discuss if I could repeat the last year as a refresher. I don't need to repeat the basics, but mainly the pharmacology & some of the more critical information that may have been updated since I went to nursing school. I am also starting to think that I could refresh most of this on my own w/ review books (Saunders, NCLEX Cram, Kaplan) and attend the Kaplan review classes. Since those 5 years, I have matured & am regaining my confidence & am DETERMINED that I will pass it. I would really appreciate any advice & thank you for sharing your story and the tips. It has been extremely motivating & hopefully it will be a success for me. Good luck & thank you very much again! :)
  3. Did you use Suzanne's Plan this last time? I'm on my third time also, and am really interested in Suzanne's plan. But this website does help a lot. Congratulations also!! You must be very proud!!!
  4. I think you handled it well, and once you get everything back in order, then maybe you can go back to the ER Dept. It must be tough, and there are always consequences to your behavior. I wouldn't fear it too much though. Good luck with everything!
  5. I Want To Wish The Best For Everyone And I Appreciate This Thread And I Know It Will Help Me Get Through Tough Days Of Studying And When My Confidence Is Low. Thank You!!
  6. The First Time I Took The Nclex, I Got 77 Questions And It Took Me About One Hour Or So. I Failed From Not Studying As Much As I Should Have. The Second Time, I Got Every Question, 265, And It Took Me About 2 1/2 Hours. I Failed Then Also, But Found Out I Was On The Verge Of Passing When I Received My Analysis
  7. The Kaplan Q Bank Helped Me Understand The Rationales And Also With The Style Of The Actual Nclex. I Think It's Beneficial To Go Ahead With The Q Bank
  8. Congratulations and thank you for some of the tips, I will definitely take these in consideration for the third time that I will be taking the NCLEX
  9. Thank you for the support and knowing I'm not the only one out there with this struggle also helps me.
  10. I was on the dean's list throughout nursing school and always made honor roll. I failed the NCLEX the first two times and it's been two and a half years since and I am about to start preparing for the test, but I am so nervous and do not want to be let down again. I feel very rusty and don't know how to go about preparing and studying since it has been such a long time. If anyone has any input, I would really appreciate it. I am definitely interested in Susanne's plan!!!
  11. I Have An Extremely Helpful Book That Has Gotten Me Through Care Plans Called "nurse's Pocket Guide-diagnoses, Interventions, And Rationales" The Ninth Edition, I'm Sure There Is A More Recent Edition. Hope This Helps!!! Good Luck
  12. I'm Sure Every Career Has There Difficulties, But You Should Just Be Thrilled That You Are An Rn And The Job Itself Is Self-rewarding. I Am Having So Much Trouble Passing The Boards And Am Soooooo Looking Forward To Being An Actual rn!!!!!! Try To Be More Thankful!!!
  13. I Am So Excited To Become An Rn And Thank You For The Future Advice
