Hi everyone! I started school to get a BSN at age 26, I was just wondering what a "realistic" age is to go back to school if I did in fact decide to pursue becoming a NP.

How old were you when you started?

I started when I was 28 and finished at 31

I started an RN program at 43, NP program at 44, started practicing at 45 and I'm 47 now.

Finished my:

Diploma RN 25

BSN 44

FNP 47

Specializes in Pediatrics, Med-Surg, Infectious Disease.

I started as LPN at 22, RN 26, BSN 30 now starting FNP at 34!

I'm 23 and decided to pursue a second bachelor's in nursing. I'm hoping to be an NP by 28 or so.

Specializes in Emergency, Flight Nursing.

Finished my ASN at 22, BSN at 44, and will finish my FNP next year at 46.

Started NP school age 59.

I became an RN at 22, got my BSN at 24, and am now in an FNP program. I will be 27 when I'm done :).

Undergrad: 22

Master's in Nursing #1: 32

Post-Master's certificate (FNP): 36

Decided at the beginning of RN school (28). Will be finished next year (33).

Specializes in Not too many areas I haven't dipped into.

I will be 47 going on 48 when I complete my NP. I don't think age is a factor in becoming whatever you want to be. If you hve the desire, GO FOR IT!!!!

I became a RN at 21, finished BSN at 23, started my FNP at 24. I will graduate in two years at 26 (hopefully right!?)... I have always wanted to be a NP. I had my doubts about whether I could do it or not, but I ended up just going for it pretty much straight through, although I did take a small break to get married. =)
