How much are you paying...

How much are you paying for nursing school (this semester)?

I just looked at my future dues for this coming Autumn Semester and have about 7000 dollars (not including books) to pay for. No scholarship money, and what it worse is that I am only taking thirteen credit hours.

I was wondering, how much are you going to have to pay for? How much do you average? And how many credit hours are you taking?

I am in South Dakota and I pay about $6500 per semester. BSN- State University.

My university here in Florida is about $230 per credit hour. This semester, I am only taking 12 credit hours so tuition is about $2760. Luckily, I get a few scholarships and a Pell Grant.

It is too late to apply for scholarships for the Fall but keep a look out from your school. Sometimes, we receive information about scholarships less than a week before the submission is due. The essays usually do not require too much time. There are never any guarantees but if you do not apply... there is zero chance of getting a scholarship. Both the community college I attended and the university I am at now have foundations that make it easy to apply for the schools scholarships. Check with your Financial Aid office, they have great tips about where to apply for all sorts of grants/ scholarships.

Good luck!

About 2,000 to 2300 after lab fees. I am taking OB, peds, preceptorship, and geriatrics. I also will be taking aikido and statistics.

I am anticipating paying $650 in tuition and fees for 10 credits at my school, a community college. This is my last semester of my ADN. Bought my leadership/management book used on amazon for 18. Have 2 out of town clinical rotations this semester that I'll need to split a hotel room with classmates and purchase meals.

I am in a full time ADN program at a community college. My 1st semester costs for classes is $3151.00, that does not include books, uniforms, shoes, supplies. I already bought my uniforms that was $200.00. My books will be $1100.00 ($735.69 is an ebook package the rest will be for 2 books, and an online pass for e-dose which I know is $100.00).

I'm such a lucky (sarcasm) gal, don't qualify for grants because FAFSA doesn't take into account that you have a mortgage to pay. My college charges 147.00/CR so I haven't added up what I will have to pay yet, since we don't even have our schedules yet. But so far just the expenses to get ready are eating me alive (books, health exams and vaccinations, background check, rolling back pack, shoes, scrubs, etc).

None. The hospital paid for mine :p

My costs are not too bad. Paid for pre-reqs out of pocket. Tuition for the actual one year LPN to RN bridge program is a little over $15k (includes books, vaccines, titers, NCLEX fees, uniforms, the whole nine). Took out a $10,700 federal loan (mix of subsidized and unsubsidized) and paid the remainder out of pocket.

My costs are through the roof. Tuition alone is 34K not including books, room, board, fees, etc.

Do you go through your school for those loans?

I attend a private university and am obtaining my bachelor's degree. Room and board plus tuition is $30,000. I have $20,000 of that paid for so I am taking out $10,000 in loan every year! I am hoping $40,000 won't be too bad to pay for once I graduate considering nurses make around $65,000 on average a year in OH. Loans really scare me too but my financial aid advisor encouraged me to continue going to the school that I am attending and that paying back these loans won't be any worse than paying for a really expensive car! & she said when you think about it... your education will never depreciate, however, that really expensive car will; therefore, this is a good investment! Still scares the crap out me though! :arghh:
