  1. "You really think this is enough coffee to keep me awake?... I don't think so."
  2. @hopefulnurse24 I am a BSN student. You?
  3. @beccahammon Have you had a credit check done?
  4. What monitoring agency does everyone use that has had theirs checked? I haven't got any inquires!
  5. I am a BSN student and I am from the Dayton, OH area. My EFC is also 0.
  6. I love NurseMates! They are so comfy! :)
  7. Thank you so much for your input! I did not know there was a free website that allows you to check your credit numerous times! Thanks! :)
  8. Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe seeing a credit check done early is a good sign meaning your at the higher end of the list to receive the scholarship. However, other individuals believe there is no correlation between credit checks and receiving the scholarship since credit checks are part of the application process. Individuals in the past saw the first round of credit checks done July 16 and 17. I am still soo anxious to start receiving some news!! :)
  9. Congratulations! I feel I am in the same boat. The university I attend just started their nursing program a few years ago and our first class of seniors only passed at a 50% rate. This really makes me nervous and I am really hoping to pass on my first try! I still have two years of nursing school left and I sure hope our program begins to improve!
  10. I attend a private university and am obtaining my bachelor's degree. Room and board plus tuition is $30,000. I have $20,000 of that paid for so I am taking out $10,000 in loan every year! I am hoping $40,000 won't be too bad to pay for once I graduate considering nurses make around $65,000 on average a year in OH. Loans really scare me too but my financial aid advisor encouraged me to continue going to the school that I am attending and that paying back these loans won't be any worse than paying for a really expensive car! & she said when you think about it... your education will never depreciate, however, that really expensive car will; therefore, this is a good investment! Still scares the crap out me though!
  11. Thanks everyone for your input! I am not exactly sure how my nursing school will review for the NCLEX. Our nursing program is new and our first set of graduates only had a 50% passing rate... which really doesn't put my nerves at ease. Therefore, I am really trying to push myself and hopefully I can pass! @ebailey1218 what books did you purchase from Amazon? & did they help? @schex6 Is the Hurst review an online program? Thanks!
  12. Hi everyone! I am currently a Junior nursing student and am completely mind-blowned at how fast these past two years (4 semesters) have flown by and I have no doubt that these next two years will go by just as fast if not faster. I am concerned about not getting enough NCLEX prep and starting to study way too late. SOOOOO.... I was wondering when you started studying for the NCLEX. What books/websites do you suggest? I also, have heard mixed reviews about taking a NCLEX prep course such Kaplan, etc. Is it really necessary to take this course to pass the test? Also, how did the NCLEX test go for you? Is there certain subjects I should put my focus on? Any advice would help!
  13. The waiting game is soooo hard! I check this post daily to see if anyone has had a credit check done, received a semi-finalist notification, etc. I am so anxious to find out if I have won the scholarship and am incredibly excited to hear others success stories! Good luck everyone and I hope we all receive good news soon!
