How much are ACLS instructors paid?

ACLS instructor, with the training center I was affiliated with, around $30 hour. But didn't always amount to much time, maybe 4-6 hours total as some parts can be taught with only one or two people, until you get to the megacode section. Now if you'd teaching a large group, like 200 med students, you may get more do to the time spent there. Thats here in southern Michigan

When I was an instructor I was never paid. And even if I had been, the prep work is not worth it.

No less than $30 for me, unless I am working for a charity. Then I will go as low as $18.00.

Basically, you get what you pay for. Max pay=max performance. (That's what they told me when I bought my Audi anyway!)

We paid our instructors $30/hr.

$250 per student per class. That includes breakfast and lunch (we taught at a restaurant)

Here in Chicago BLS classes I get paid 20-22$ an hour. ACLS classes 24-30$ an hour. If you can market yourself effectivley and either buy the necessary equipment or know someone who trust you and will let you use their equipment for a class you can set up a class and per AHA by youself certify 8 people in a day say your doing just renewals for 7-8 hour class and charge each person 130-190$ for the class you do the math. hope that helps!

Thanks everyone for your replies. For those of you who aren't getting paid, that is just NOT right!

The reason I posted the question is because my partner is paying his instructors an astronomically large amount of money. They are renewing a large group of people and the course lasts no more than 4 hours and he is paying all of his instructors a minimum of $400 for each course they assist him with. I feel that he is overpaying them and I think it is ridiculous. There is one guy who works for him and he paid him $1500 for teaching a one day 8 hour course! He is too generous, and I feel he is easily taken advantage of. Your answers will help me explain to him that he is overpaying them!

Another question for you all: If he paid a few of the nurses $400 for this 3.5-4 hour ACLS renewal in the past, how hard would it be for him to decrease the amount he pays them now? I am suggesting to him that he should cut their pay to $300 dollars, but he is going to do what he wants. I think he is afraid of them complaining. But why should they complain when they are still going to be heavily overpaid even with a cut?

PLEASE give me your opinions!

I would want $600 for a day spent teaching a group. If he has 1 instructor for 6 students being charged $250/each for the class. He still makes quite a hefty profit. If I go to work on a weekend I make about $75/hr with shift diffs and ot. For those people they are only getting $400 for 8 hours or $50/hr. Ill pass on that....

Also, let him run his business. If he fails then its his problem. Dont make it your problem too. Im going out on a limb and guessing he is not your business "partner". If he is then I guess it is your problem.

Argo, it's not a full day, it's 3.5-4 hours and they're getting a minimum of $400 dollars for this.
