How many of you have used the anatomy/phys/microbiology COLORING BOOKS?

I'm very curious because somebody on here recommended the Anatomy one, and was wondering how many of you have used any of them and what kind of success did you have?

Thanks in advance!

I loved it. Being a visual learner, I had a great time learning Anatomy with those books, I loved the Cranial bones - they have the most space for crayons

Hi there!

In my A&P days, I used the coloring books all the time! Helped me get straight A's. I also got a big sketchbook and some colored pencils and drew my own pics which helped me learn whatever was being taught (esp vascular systems).

I spent too much time with the coloring. What worked best for me was labeling, whether it was a line drawing, color plate or photo.

Love them! :) For me, they really help the info stick. Makes it kinda fun too cuz I can break out the markers and color with my kids- they color Thomas the Train and My Little Pony, and I color Anatomy LOL

Loved the A&P one! Color coding the diff structures really helped to memorize them!

I couldn't afford them, so I didn't use them. But I can see how they might be a useful learning tool.

I not only used them when I took A&P right before nursing school but also before when I taught high school biology. Most students complained at first but I could always tell by test scores who had actually used the sheets.

VERY time consuming, but very helpful. I aced my last anatomy and physiology exam due to using and cross-referencing both the anatomy and physiology books. I couldnt miss more than two questions on the final exam to maintain my "A" at the end of the semester. I didn't miss one single question and I know it was becuase the coloring books helped.

I did the Microbiology coloring book three weeks before taking the class. It was very time consuming, but I didn't have to study anywhere nearly as much becuase I already had an introduction to the material and I was able to focus more on the details of the class. Good luck.

I used them for my older kids when they were homeschooled, and to this day (10-15 yrs later) they are exceptional at anatomy, even though that was not their chosed field.

I agree with the person that said labeling worked best for them. I copied the pages of the coloring book and just labeled over and over again. I'm not so patient with the coloring!

I was a big fan of the Kaplan ones. The pages weren't too cluttered with information so it was easy to work with. Time consuming, but well-worth it.
