How many times were you rejected before you finally got that acceptance letter??!

Published

I just need a little inspiration right now.lol

I was rejected once and then accepted the second time I applied. I was crushed when I was first rejected, but things happen for a reason! I was better able to make it through the program because of changed circumstances.

Specializes in Emergency Dept.

3 times. And I ended up with a 3.4ish GPA in my nursing classes and passed boards with 75 questions on the first try.

Specializes in everywhere.

None, I was one of those few lucky ones. Accepted 1st time for LVN, then again 1st time for RN. Although, I did apply to our local three colleges each time. Turned the other two down each time for the one I wanted.

Most of my classmates had to apply three or four times each time.

I passed boards with minimum questions each time. I have a good friend that is an AWESOME nurse, she had to apply three different times, failed boards first time before success. Just because you aren't accepted the 1st time, just try again, it doesn't mean that you won't be a good nurse. In the long term, all that matters is that you were successful and you have a license.

GOOD LUCK

Are you talking about getting into nursing school? I got 6 !! rejection letters from community colleges, most of which used lottery, and a few waiting lists. I got in the same year into a state Univ that utilized GPA only. (mine was 3.75), it was a good thing I did prereqs in community college where it was waaay easier and cheaper too.

Specializes in acute care.

I applied to two programs, one regular BSN program and an Accel BSN program....got rejected from the ABSN, and accepted to the reg BSN program, which will take me 3 years to complete...actually, I am glad I didn't go the accelerated route. I think it would have been too fast paced and stressful for me, especially since I would have been taking pre-reqs along with the nursing classes....

Specializes in Critical Care, Surgical ICU.

I applied to seven schools the first four rejected me. The fifth did not. Plus it was my first choice school. Don't give up, you will get in!

Specializes in SICU/CVICU.

I was rejected once, but it was for an incomplete application packet, and it was a school that I didn't even really want to go to...so I don't count that. Haha.

I was accepted the first time in my eyes. ;)

Specializes in Assisted Living, Med-Surg/CVA specialty.

None, our community college accepts everyone I believe... I think you just need to take the NLN which I thought was pretty easy.

Specializes in LTC, med-surg, critial care.

I applied to one CC for LVN school and got in on the first try. I applied to one CC for the LVN-RN bridge and got in on my first try. I was really sweating the RN application because there was only three seats open for LVN's.

Specializes in NeuroICU/SICU/MICU.

I was accepted to my traditional BSN program the first time, but I was #2 on the alternate list until I was "fully" accepted. I still started the semester I wanted to, so I call that acceptance ;)
