I am searching how many prerequisites there are to prerequisites and it seems like it will take me ages to get all of them done! I did not take chemistry in high school and I had a C+ in Biology so I definetly need some brushing up. In order to get to A&P1&2 eventually, I will have to take... Basic biology, intro to biology, general biology 1, general biology 2, and then finally the A&Ps...that's 6 semesters just for those! Also, concepts of chem, general chem 1, and general chem 2; not to mention microbiology and all the 3 credit courses. Is this correct does it really take this long for a full-time student? Unsure of how people get done in 1 year.

My school required a prereq for the prereqs, as well. General Chem was the prereq for either A&P1 or for Microbiology.
Gen Chem actually had a Math prereq, also🙄 Thankfully, my wonderful Chem Professor didn't enforce it.
I don't know how people get their prereqs done in 1 yr, either. I assume that their schools have fewer prereqs and/or they never failed a class.
It took me several years to 1) complete prereqs 2) become a CNA, then LVN/LPN and 3) become an RN

A bit of both at my college - they won't explicitly state that you have to take chem or bio before you can get into A&P, though I wish they would and then let people test out of them if needed. A lot of people in my science classes have had trouble grasping concepts because they don't have a strong science background and more prerequisites would have benefitted them greatly.
Advising did give me the option to take chem etc but it was made in more of a passing comment; I wish they'd dwell on it a bit more and say "Hey, I know you're eager to get into nursing, but you're really going to want to learn this stuff first and give yourself a good base to work from."
I've gotten all of my prerequisites done in 2 semesters, but I took on a lot to get it done so quickly.
We only needed lab chem and lab bio (I took human bio since it was more relevant) to be able to take A&PI, and then II. I took the bio and chem in the fall, and this semester I have A&PI and II. My school offers them in an accelerated format, so I took I the first half of the semester, and started II this week. Both of those are prereqs for Micro, which I will take in the summer as that's the last non-nursing course I need and I want to be able to focus on only the nursing courses when I enter the program this fall.
That was my face too D: Poor lass - she's been trying to work full time, plus do 4 classes this semester (2 of which being A&P 2 and Micro)... But that being said, I truly think she's struggling so much because she doesn't have that science backbone that she would have gained from getting through classes like Bio I / Chem etc.
Students for the most part are naturally hasty - we cant to get our programs done asap, even if it'd benefit us to take things a bit slower. That being said, I think my college needs to kinda step up its game a little and recognize when students would benefit from that and advise accordingly.

general biology, which had the prerequisites of very low level english and math
