How many people did you lose?

Published

My program is rather small with only 170 or so students. I don't know everyone, obviously, but I know of at least four people (and rumored at least six more) that have either left the program or have flunked out. It saddens me that people are forced to sit out the rest of the year and wanted to see just how common or how uncommon it is to lose people so easily.

We started with 60 first semester and lost 5-6 by (the current) second semester. We gained 15 LPN students, but I'd imagine we'll probably lose at least 8-10 this semester, as it has been pretty difficult for a lot of people.

Started with 72 and lost exactly 50% after first semester. We gained a few folks this semester (2nd) that didn't pass it their first go round. We'll have to see how many folks make it on to the 3rd semester. First semester is usually the worst as far as people failing out or just quitting from what I understand.

In first level, out of 50 we lost around 15. Not too shabby.

Our class started with 80, now we are down to 72. I'm in the first semester and we still have finals this week coming up and I know of at least 3 people that are on the fail line. They would have to have a miracle to pass which is sad because they are so great in clinical.

We started with 100 people and have 80 left at this time with one week left in third semester, however I'm sure we will loose about 5-10 after grades are posted.

dont know for sure but i think weve only lost 10%.

We started with about 72 and we are down to like 40. We lost students every semester right down to the final week.

About to finish the first semester of 5 and we started with 68 and we are down to about 57. Alot of people are praying for a miracle on the final. I pray they make it and I pray that I do not mess up. Pray for all of us.

At our school, one in five make it by senior year. It goes without saying that the school's NCLEX pass rate is 98%. The school lives and dies by NCLEX pass rates.

We had around 33 starting, 11 failed out in the first semester (Spring), 1 left, and another failed Pharm in the summer and we gained 3 LPN bridges'. We thankfully didn't lose anyone this fall semester but a lot of people were on the borderline. Hopefully we'll all make it to graduation Dec 2012!!

We started with 60 are down to 52 and we get pinned on wednesday. I'd say 8 isn't to bad!

out 0f 40: 1 quit, 1 flunked out, and 1 was busted with heroin so she is sitting in jail. (we knew she wouldn't make it though...)
