  1. I've got a few I made a 98 on a pharm test in the summer. I successfully started my 2 first IV's in clinical's this past semester! I am now a 2nd year RN student. One more year
  2. there's just a whole lot of information.
  3. We had around 33 starting, 11 failed out in the first semester (Spring), 1 left, and another failed Pharm in the summer and we gained 3 LPN bridges'. We thankfully didn't lose anyone this fall semester but a lot of people were on the borderline. Hopefully we'll all make it to graduation Dec 2012!!
  4. its probably most of your books for the whole program. Thats how mine is. There's only like Maternity and Peds that we'll have to buy in our second year.
  5. I start my RN program in 4 weeks too and I'm buying all my books. if you can afford it, its probably the best idea because you'll always have them and you can use them to brush up on things before you take the NCLEX. I did the same thing with my A&P, nutrition, and math for meds so I'll have them if I need to look back. Congrats on getting into your program I'm sure your supper excited just like I am!
  6. thanks so much! hopefully they help!
  7. So in my nutrition class we got an extra credit assignment of making a full meal plan (Breakfast, Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner) for different Nutrition cases. Mine is 2000 cal with increased K+, decreased NA+, 20% Protein, 55% Carbs, 25% fat with 10% saturated. I was wondering if ya'll might have any tips or websites to help me? they would be greatly appreciated. thanks
  8. I'm going to tell you what my Nutrition instructor told us, It is so much more likely to get Hep B from a needle stick than HIV. that the virus to blood ratio is pretty large so its easier to contract from a needle stick. I've had my series and I've had no problems with it. I will be starting Nursing school in Jan 2011 and its not required but you do have to sign a waiver saying you understand and are willing to take the risk of not getting the vaccine. To each their own and it is your personal choice, but I would, if you already haven't read up on Hep B and see if thats worth not getting the vaccine. I've also had the Flu shot this year and had no side effects, not even a runny nose. Any drugs or vaccines you take or get can have adverse side-effects from mild to extreme so you just have to weigh the risk. Good luck to you in your Clinicals though we wont start ours until Febuary, we get a nice month dose of class and skills lab before Clinicals
  9. Well I'm just a little bit worried on the whole transfer thing and since all my classes are from nfcc.. My grades are: Bio-A A&P 1- A A&P 2 - B Micro- B Math for meds- A College alg- B Pysch and Human development-B (I think) Eng 1- A Eng 2- B I took stats but I didn't like it(therefore I didn't study) so I made a D but I'm probably going to take it over in the spring at SF. I also plan on taking nutrition over at NFCC. And Chem, and that one class in the spring. My GPA is 3.3 it was a 3.57 before stats... :S
  10. HI Amibition2012 and Codeman5788, I'm trying to get in the fall 2011 class and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing what you made on your prereqs and any coreqs you took. I don't know that much about SF RN program, right now I'm attending NFCC but I plan to transfer to SF in the spring. I have all my prereqs done and co reqs and will have my AA at the end of fall. So if theres any tips or pointers you have I would much appreciate them 8-D
