I completed an LVN program in 2005 that started with 24 and graduated 22 people. In other words, we lost only 2 students (1 flunked the program and the other dropped out). This is not too bad.
I'll be starting an RN program in less than 3 months, and it would be nice if everyone graduated and passed NCLEX on the first attempt!
It is hard to tell exactly with our ADN program because so many people go p/t - or they need to repeat a class before they can move on.
Our Health Alterations class - which is med/surg - started with 35 people in Sept. Many of them taking it for the 2nd time around. We are down to about 17-20 folks, and the majority of the class is failing.
Out of 30 in clinical groups - I know of 2 that have dropped and will need to take next semester. I am afraid that it will be a small group that graduates come May

I was reading another thred about the rollercoaster that is nursing school and I was wondering if other programs lost the same or similar numbers of students. Also there is an added stress of seeing my friends and classmates leave. So how many students has your program lost and how do you deal with seeing your friends go?
In my program we started out with 114 we are down to 91 now.
