10 hrs a night, sounds a bit too much (everybody is differ though), 1-3 hrs three to fours times a week worked for me.
We have a test every day, some days 2 tests. So for me it really is more of a need than a want. We are graded on a 6 point scale. Anything below an 80 & you're out of the program. Your study schedule sounds like heaven to me. :)
Each person has their own needs. I want to get high A's so I study more than I would if I only cared about getting an 81 (needed to pass). There are others in my class that have to study as much as I do JUST to get an 81. I don't study every night, some nights I just have to put the books away. I put in a few hours the night before a test. So I guess I study about 10 hours a week.
dee78, you must be really smart and have a good memory.
Im studying about 30 hours a week for A&P. Should I just forget nursing school now?
I am really making an effort to start managing my time better. I find that Im just not being efficient and since we get a lot of random questions on the exam, I have to cover all my bases and then some. ( there were some questions on the last exam where I couldnt even find the answers in the book)

That's exactly what I'm running into. For me personally I'd rather know too much & know how everything works..once I understand that it makes a heck of alot more sense to & makes it easier to learn. So for me at least, that takes up alot of time. I have to work for it too! I was orignally studying around 12-13 hours a night but, figured out some different study skills & am down to 10 hours a night...I'm perfectly okay with that. So you're not alone. I truly think it depends on the person & the work load. We have 5 classes running at a time, a total of 22 credit hours this semester. Don't get discouraged it sounds like you're doing a great job! I was getting frustrated too when I'd study & study but, only about half would show up on the test. (not that I'm whining) I've found as we move on, I'm needing alot more of the information I've already retained. So in many ways the extra hours I put in has helped me in other areas. We can do it :) :heartbeat
Ok you all make me feel awful. I study maybe a couple hours a week if its a midterm or final i go all out but otherwise just usually read through it. With that being said though, everyone is different. Every person retains the information differently. Once you get in there you'll get into whatever works best for you. Good Luck and congrats for getting in.

Starting school next month & sooo nervous about the workload. How many hrs a night do you spend doing school work & how do you prioritize your life?
