  1. Pearson trick works!! Just find out that I passed!
  2. Ok, so I took the test this morning, It stopped at 85 questions. Got a ton of SATP & I am not good with those & also Pharm which is my weakest. I tried to "good pop up" and it said something about already registered & to contact whoeve . Does this really work? I have never been so nervous in my life. But before I tried to re-register & before I got the that screen there was a screen thaw said "Current Activty" and it said at the bottom, "your exam results are not currently available at this time". This screen came up first & then & clicked on the tab to register, went through all the steps & got the "good pop up" I waited about 1 hour and 15 minutes to try the trick. Anybody see that before & pass?
  3. I am a new LPN grad as of a couple weeks ago & not working yet. I plan on looking for a job when I pass my boards which I take in a July. I have a couple of friends that work in different nursing homes as CNAs & said that their facilities are hiring per diem. What exactly is per diem? What is the pay like? Will I get hours? Do i get the crappy shifts? Do I pick any shift I want? Is it good for an new LPN? Do you think I need more experience? Anything you can tell me about it would be great! I know you dont get health insurance which is not a problem because my husband gets it for us. I thought it could be a good thing to get my foot in the door especially at this one particular facilty I would like to work at. Any advice or info would be great, thanks!
  4. I am currently in school for LPN, I will not graduate until May of 2011 but I would like to know what is the average starting salary for a LPN fresh out of school. I have seen salary threads on here but nothing recently for a starting LPN salary. So can you tell me what was your starting salary, where do you live & what type of facility did or do you work for? How long did it take you to find a work? I know all these factors are what make up your pay. Also do you like your job?:) I currently live in northeastern PA. Thanks!!!
  5. I am a week into my lpn program & already feeling overwhelmed. I have my first test on Monday on the first three chapters of our A&P book & finally got through the first 2 chapters. I have been studying for hours everynight since Wednesday. Its taking me forever to retain all the info. It has been 11 years since I ws in school & had to study for anything so I know its going to take me a while to adjust but I did not think it would be this hard for me to retain the info. If im having this hard of a time with one test & studying for one subject, how am I can handle studying for multiple subjects & having multiple tests a week?! I am so nervous that Im in over my head. Has anyone else felt this way in the beginning? How do you or did you organize your studying so you can study for multiple tests? Does it get easier as you get more into it?
  6. My program is 15 months full time Mon - Fri 7 am to 3 pm with the summer off. Good luck in your program!! Its exciting, isn't it?! I had orientation a couple weeks ago & they went over the handbook & what to expect & what was expected of us.
  7. Big Boy 18 "Re: Is anyone starting their LPN program in March? No, but I graduate in May! Study hard..it's going to be over before you know it. Best of luck! If you need any advice feel free to message me :) " Thanks!! Congratulations on making through!! Ur almost there! U mus be so happy! Im sooo excited but nervous because I have no experience in the medical field what so ever & I also have been out of school for 11 years. How long was your program? What in your opinion was the best part of being a LPN student & what was the worst part? Did you have any free time? I had orientaion a couple weeks ago & they told us to forget about our social life & said not to work while in the program if you can afford to because of the workload. I'm scared!!!
  8. Would you like to keep in touch, share your stories & get advice & support from eachother?! I start my program March 8th & Im soooo nervouse & excited!!! When do you start & how are you feeling?
  9. Congratulations!!!!!! You must be sooo happy! I start my program next month & so nervous, any tips?
  10. Starting school next month & sooo nervous about the workload. How many hrs a night do you spend doing school work & how do you prioritize your life?
  11. I will be starting in March of 2010. I am excited but also very nervous. I was just wondering for those who are in a LPN program if there was any advie they can give me. Is there anything that I should/could do now to prepare or help me?
  12. Congratulations!!! You should be proud!! Even though I dont you I am happy for you. I start an LPN program in March 2010 & Im sooo nervous but you definitly inspired me.
  13. In March 2010 I will be starting school to become an LPN. I live in Northeast Pa. The cost of living here is not bad compared to some places but I have been reading some posts about lpns starting salary & they have been disappointing. I thought LPNS made a little more. I am currently a bookkeeper, have been for 5 years. I make descent money but I am quitting my job to go to school full time. The starting salaries I have seen on here for LPNs are less than what I make now. Its not all about the money but I would like to at least make what I am making now. I know at all depends on where you live & what type of facility you work in. Can anyone tell me what they pay they started at as a new lpn & where you live? Anyone LPNS in the northeast PA region? If so what do you make? Thanks!
  14. I am 28 yrs old, married & no kids. My husband & I were trying to conceive for 1 1/2 yrs with no luck. We both have been to the doctor & found out Im the problem. The doc said my ovulatin glevels were low but could be fixed with meds. Recently we decided to hold off on a baby so I can go to school to get a medical degree. I had orginally thought to go straight for the RN assoicates degree wich would probaly take me about 3-4 years with all the prereqs. But if I go for LPN it would take me not even half the time. The reason I would go for LPN is because the amount of time it would take for RN. If I was younger & did not have fertilty issues it would be a no brainer but since I have this problem I thought maybe to go for LPN to get my feet wet in the industry to make sure its really for me which i think it is. Get a job as a LPn then try to get pregnant. After I get pregnant continue working as a LPN & then while doing that I can go back to school to become an RN. I am s o stressed about this becasue I want to make the right choice. What would be my best bet? I know that RNs make more than LPN but how much more do they make?
