How long does it take to have your license issued?

I'm in il and took my boards on June 11th and I'm still not on the bon but you can work once you pass, yes. You will get an official pass letter in the mail and can work under the supervision of an RN until your license posts/comes in the mail.

I'm totally cool with working under someone else lol! It's a new world not being a student

Do you know how long that will take? I don't mind working under someone else at all, but I took mine on the 26th and I'm wondering whether I can work from July 9th...

As I remember, the letter said 4-6 weeks. We have to remember how slow our lovely state is though lol :) I will be posting as soon as I get mine so you ladies know.

Also, pneumo, I know!!! My preceptor was an lpn! Not sure that's legal but she is amazing and I'm so happy I had her!

so to get the temporary pass you are using to work, how long did it take that to come in mail? or is it something you print?? Sorry I'm just so anxious because I can't start looking for jobs without my license number for a lot of the hospitals!

It took 2 days but I heard our fellow illini took a week.

It took me a week to get my letter. The hospital I am going to start working for will not allow me to work until it is posted to the BON. Even though the letter says you can. So before getting too excited like I did make sure your employer will allow you to start with the letter. I know I am getting mad or anxious waiting, we orientate on the 9th, but with out it I can not!

I took my test Tuesday 6/26 and it's up on ok board of nursing with license # today. I think they said I get my passed letter in mail in a week. No idea when I get physical license. I still haven't gotten diploma from school!

Yep. Most states post right away but not IL.

Excuse my language but I am officially getting ****** off. If all these other states can post license numbers in ONE day, where the heck is mine??? It's been 3 weeks.

yupppp, IL takes about 3-4 weeks. this is FRUSTRATING. can't put license number for job application. it'd stressing me out...

Yes I am tired of waiting!! I am going to lose a whole month of pay because I now have to wait until August to orientate!!!!! I called the IL BON and they say maybe by Friday, doubt it since the others that tested before me are not on the website.
