Patient fx hip after family refused alarm

Regardless of whether or not the family members were the POA, it is the responsibility of the nursing home to ensure the patient's safety so the alarm should have been placed. If the nurse cannot explain to the family the necessity of the alarm, then the DON should have been called to do so and if the DON can't, then the administrator. I am an ADON and have been dealing with this issue recently. If the family does not want an alarm, then they can take their loved one to a place that is negligent and allows refusal of safety measures.

    Sexual harrassment?

I don't think he should have been written up and I don't think he should be suspended. As the charge nurse, you could have simply spoken to him and gave him a verbal warning. I agree with other posters, females sit around and share stories about the men in their lives, how is this any different? Are you his friend? Is that why he showed you? That part is really strange to me!

How long does it take to have your license issued?

I'm in il and took my boards on June 11th and I'm still not on the bon but you can work once you pass, yes. You will get an official pass letter in the mail and can work under the supervision of an RN until your license posts/comes in the mail.

What are the emergency drugs ? Nclex rn

Well, this is a broad question :) It depends what the person comes in for. I can tell you some common emergency drugs are: Nitro Lidocaine Epinephrine Oxygen IV fluids (for dehydration or to increase blood volume, etc) Atropine Narcan (for OD)

    ATI Virtual Review

I used Virtual ATI and I passed NCLEX. I can tell you that I was signed up for the 6 week program and I took my NCLEX before the 6 weeks was up. That being said, I devoted more than 2-3 hours a day, so sometimes I was doing a new test every day (when my instructor would send me the codes....) I did more than just ATI for studying as well. And fyi, my school used ATI, too, but Virtual ATI is NOT free... It's $250.

Exactly what I was thinking... I'm not concerned about being dubbed the "ADON"... I'm looking for advice about the MDS position.
