How long have you been at your current facility?

Published

Just curious how long have you all been at your current facility. Overall do you like it? Do you see yourself staying there longer?

Specializes in HH, Peds, Rehab, Clinical.

11 mos. Four shifts left until my last day. Can't wait!

21 years as of June 1st-hospital setting. I guess I must like something about it to have stayed around that long. I do like the pts. but I could do without the tattling, a$$-kissing, etc. The thing is, there is BS wherever you go-I know the type of BS there is where I work & have gotten very good as staying out of it. "Staying out of it" annoys the little snitches but I say later for them.

Almost 11 months. I've been a nurse for 11 years and have worked for about 8 companies so I'm a chronic job hopper... not always by choice unfortunately. :(

I'm very hopeful that in the next few weeks I will be starting a job in a great psych facility where I'd like to spend the rest of my career. I've done med surge, psych, ltc and home health... but psych is my first love in nursing..

Specializes in ICU.

10 months in current position (transferred after 1.5 yrs at sister hospital). I love it!!! But I plan on going back to school next year to become an ACNP- so I will be moving to a new state.

Specializes in Inpatient Oncology/Public Health.

Been at my current facility 6 years. Compared to my first facility, it's a spa resort(both inpatient Hem Onc at large hospitals.) Lots of support staff, good money, decent ratios(although staffing has been a bit rough lately.) I plan to stay awhile yet, although ultimate goal is accelerated masters/NP. I can't do this job the rest of my career.

1 week and I really like it!

Specializes in Pediatrics,Adult/Pediatric Psychiatry.

Going on 27 years all at the same hospital. 24 years in Peds/PICU and now going on 3 years in adult psychiatry. Plan on being here for at least 7 more years and the day i turn 55 getting the hell out of here and retiring with 34+ years of service :-)

Specializes in CCU, SICU, CVSICU, Precepting & Teaching.

Ten years. I like my job and my manager is fair. I'll retire from here. (In less than a year.)

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

3 years this month. I'm planning to leave at the end of the year either to a sister hospital or the hospital I'm starting at PRN.

6 months, and don't plan on leaving at any point in the foreseeable future. This is my first staff position (struggled making per diem work with full time needs), and I've endured 6 months of difficulty with assimilating. I've made it this far no sense in quitting now!
