How long does CA BON take to post your licensed number after you've taken the NCLEX-PN

Published

Hi all! I've taken the NCLEX for the third time Dec first 2015. PVT confirms I passed but I won't feel completely convinced until I actually see my licensed number. I know different states are different so please only CALIFORNIA testers.

You need to specify RN or LVN.

LVN no license posted until you received the pass letter and pay the initial licensing fee.

Yup JustBeachyNurse is right. I think for the LVN i have to wait a month for the actual license & letter. For RN it only took me 3days, the result came up on breeze.

Sorry guys. I took the NCLEX-PN

Your license won't be posted until after you receive the pass letter and then return the form with the $150 initial license fee. Once the licensing application is processed your license is posted. Around 4-6 weeks for nclex results letter then another few weeks for processing of initial application fee.

Are you serious? After I paid 350 to pass the NCLEX I have to pay another 150 to attain my license? Wow I've never heard of that. What state are you referring to? I know all states have different rules.

California BVNPT $150 application & $200 to Pearson to register. Once you pass $150 initial licensing fee. If you pass first attempt, an LVN license is $500

Wow I didn't know there was additional fees after I passed the test and paid 350 that's rediculous. What state are you in? Seems like my classmates would have said something being surprised they have to pay more money.

I'm not in CA. That's the process for LVN in CA. It's clearly explained on the application and BVNPT website so there shouldn't be any surprises

Well thank you for letting me know. I guess I never thought this far before I've always focused on passing the test. Since the PVT trick says I passed I'm eager to know what the next step is.

See #8 of section A here. The current initial licensing fee for LVN is $150

Now in about 3-4 weeks you will get a letter with request for 150 stating you passed (or that you failed or that you passed but have a background issue). Then you have an option to mail in the fee, or walk it in. If you walk it in they issue you a temp license which allows you to work, but not every employer will accept. Once BVNPT has your cash in hand it takes about 2-3 weeks for the number to be posted online. Around this same time your card will come in the mail. Some employers will only allow you to work after you are verified online.
