How to know if your license is approved or denied?

I graduated nursing school in May and took the NCLEX June 21st and received my pass letter a week ago. Does this mean my license is Approved or can it be denied? I looked online for Illinois nursing website and it all says pending but under verify fees and FBI check it says rejected/ fail? What does that mean? Would I have received something in the mail stating I was denied my license or is it an error? When would you know if you were denied your license?

Well, why would you be denied a license? Do you have some sort of criminal

record? If you do, it sounds like they are possibly denying giving you a

license for now.

Call the BON and ask for clarification?

I'm just curious because I've been reading other threads. How would you know that your license is denied? Would you even be able to take the NCLEX or get your results?

Actually, I don't think you would have been able to even take the NCLEX.

The BON website should show that you have an active license, once you've

passed NCLEX. It may take a few days? You may just have to contact

them if your license doesn't show that it is active, soon.

She said the comment was under "fees", FBI criminical background check. . If payment was declined for. What ever reason

I definitely would be calling my BON....

Did you try this site:

State of Illinois | Department of Financial & Professional Regulation

I just mailed my check for my license last week. But why would it say that? Would I have even been able to take NCLEX if I was denied?

All I can say is to contact the Board of Nursing.

If like OP mentioned, the fees were paid late - that could potentially explain it.

To answer OP - how could you take NCLEX without fees paid? Not sure but I will say that errors can occur, even from the Board of Nursing.

Yes. That is possible. People occasionally post about getting refused licenses after talking and passing NCLEX. It's almost always due to a criminal history.

Do you have a criminal history?

Good question.. I am having something somewhat similar happen to me. I do have something on my record but I've passed every background check for my acceptance into my Nursing program lpn license everything through my state. I took my nclex for rn july 2nd and my license still says pending. So i asked my classmates how long it took them to get on the registry. Every one replied with 2-3 days after nclex. I got my results and it says pass but im. Still pending on the BON.

Started to get worried so i called the BON. They said background checks still processing. Not denied and nothing is outstanding... Just processing.. Said they'd find out what's going on and they never called me back.. Needless to say I'll be calling them again next week. Praying i didnt go this far to be denied on my background. I was fine for the lpn so im hoping same for rn.
