I wouldn't say it is hard but it is time consuming and different than any other class you have taken. The amount of information, care plans, clinicals, extra stuff/fluff are the stressers. Nursing courses/tests are not regurgitated memorization. Its taking the info you learned and apply it in scenario type questions..

If it's something you "really" want to do, you will manage. There will be bumps along the way but you will learn to adapt :)

I always thought I was not "smart" enough to be a nurse, especially because I was not the best at math. After alot of hardwork, perserverance, and determination. I went from CNA to LPN to RN (ADN). I will eventually go back for BSN but right now after all my hard work,I want to enjoy my life-without worring about care plans, clinicals, exams and all that nursing school entails. I wont say my journey was a cake walk because it was not. Nursing school is tough, emotionally, psychologically, and sometimes physically-i.e lack of sleep stuff like that. I also worked full time through out all of my programs-had bills to pay! The hardest part was getting into a program because the schools were very competitive in my area (with 2 year wait lists for some schools). So If it is really what you want to do, then you have to be determined to overcome all those the elements to reach your dream of becoming a NURSE! Good luck in whatever you decide.

Nursing school is a strange bird, unlike anything you've done before.

You have huge volumes of information to learn, so the pace and stress level is high. But you can't just take in the information. You have to link it all together, understand the "why" of all of it, and figure out how to USE it. Then you have to go out into the clinical world and take all that knowledge stuffed into your brain and put it into practice.

It ain't easy.

But you won't know how you'll take to it until you give it a go. Your GPA from before is almost meaningless. We all come in as "great students," some leave with failing grades, and most are just happy to pass. You could breeze on through or find it isn't for you, but don't be discouraged by the tales that are told. It's hard, but people do it every day.

Thanks everyone! I always wanted to be a nurse but never got a chance to be one because I always was discourage by people words @ changed my major to criminal justice to find out that wasn't for me! Now I'm back to square one by god grace if I stay focus & put everything on hold I will put 1000% into it! Thanks guys

Don't let other people get in your head. Some can be so dramatic. Just because something was hard for someone else doesn't mean the same goes for you. Just believe in your self because you will never know the true answer until you do the walking yourself. If you pour your heart into your studies, you will achieve your end goal. Sure, it's nice to get tips from people, but of their is one thing I learned throughout my college journey, it's to not let others dictate the hardness/ chance of me accomplishing something. Put your mind to it and you can do it.
