How hard is nursing school?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I hear nursing school is so hard I'm not a genius but I get good grades I hold a 3.7 gpa now and I don't work but have 2 boys 6 & 3 years old so I have all the time to study I get so scared cause people always try to discourage me but it's what I really want & this is my life! I think I can do it I would like current nursing students reviews thanks

I think that if you want it bad enough, you can do it. 3.7 GPa is pretty awesome for college! Nursing school is much more demanding of your time (my kids don't see me much these days) and when you're not in school you have homework or studying to do. It's not rocket science, however. Just hard work and a lot of common sense, willingness to learn! Good luck!

Nursing is hard, time consuming, but very doable. You can do it! They don't know it yet, but your boys will be so proud of you for going all the way. When you graduate celebrate together.

I graduated from an Accelerated BSN last year and I bow down to all the parents in my program who not only graduated, but some of them even graduated with honors!

Honestly, it's not as hard as I heard it would be. The subject matter itself is not difficult, but nursing school is very time consuming (paperwork, clinicals, etc). I am in my 3rd (of 5) semesters in a BSN program. I have managed to make 5 A's and 1 B so far (currently 3 A's for semester in progress). Time management is key. Plan time for studying,homework,etc.. And stick to your plan! I spent about 20-25 hrs a week studying and doing paperwork outside of class/clinical. I hold a BS in Biology. I personally thought the subject matter required to learn was much more difficult for that degree, but I spend more time, not studying, but doing written assignments for my BSN than I did for my BS in Bio.
