Hey I'm new to this site, and was just curious how Nova's nursing program is. I just got accepted into the Fall 2010 nursing program at the main campus in Davie. Any advice on how it is? Did you feel prepared when you took your NCLEX after completing the 27 month program? Would love to hear from anybody. I'm so excited and cant wait to start in august! :)
:yeah:I was accepted on 4/21 and I received an email yesterday and my acceptance packet today. I paid the 500 dollar deposit yesterday online but I am confused. Do we need to send the intent to enroll form with the receipt of the payment? And I was printing up the forms and registering for orientation on the 16th of August. I wanted to see if those that have been accepted, found out how to find the forms for the physical assessment, etc. ??? And I would like to congratulate everyone who has been accepted and those that haven't, please have patience and dont lose hope. I have been waiting for this a long time now. I had applied for winter and deferred for Fall. Now I was accepted!:)
Hello everyone!
Congrats to all who were accepted!! It is a HUGE accomplisment, and you all should be very proud of yourselves. I remember when I first got my acceptance email and now, well today I just finished my first semester of nursing school. TIME FLYS!! If you guys have any questions on what to expect for your 1 semester, let me know. I would love to help! I am a Kendall student btw :-)

:nurse:Jennifer023 ......how was your first semester? Where did u order your uniforms? I received the acceptance package two days ago. I faxed in the intent to enroll form with the receipt of the payment I made online today. I also faxed everything for Financial Aide. I have to mail in the Residency proof tomorrow. I printed out some forms in one of the links that states we need to bring to orientation. Orientation for Kendall campus is on August 16,2011. Do you know when classes start? How did you go dress for orientation? Did you get the Baptist Scholar? If u did, how was it for the interview? Sorry for so many questions. I am really nervous because I do not know anyone coming this semester for Kendall campus in Fall. I have not been able to view the form for the physical and immunization and I wanted to see if you knew how I can do that? Has anyone see it yet, those forms? I am trying to get things done early so I will not worry after. I am planning everything because I will have to stop working coming August. I work for a Doctor and I told him I got accepted and he is going crazy! I am trying to save up money before I start school. Please let me know Jennifer or anyone what you did and where u bought your materials. I was looking for the schedule and they still show the one for winter 2011. And where did u buy the books? Thank you for everything! Sorry for all the questions.....
Hey everyone. I spoke to admissions and they provided me with the pin and package code for the background check. After you pay the $500 dollar deposit and send in the Intent to Enroll Form, you will receive an email with your pin and package code for the background check which then gives you access to the immunization and physical form. School starts on August 22, 2011. So far I have found the answers to my questions. If anyone needs any help, let me know, glad to assist.
itsnicolee, So far the program is good I just finished my first semester :) advise to succeed, never underestimate any exam! study, study, study! All though many make it seem so so hard and not doable it really isn't that way at all. Just that it's a bit challenging but if you are passionate about your career you will get it done!!! So far as my experience at DAVIE CAMPUS professors have been awesome and understanding but they dont curve grades like in other schools. I don't know about Kendall though since for other then Anatomy and Physio we have different professors. Apart from all the hard work at the end you have this GREAT feeling of accomplishment it's unexplainable.... maybe like that day you read ur acceptance letter.... well for all those who got accepted GOOD LUCK with determination and will power you will do absolutely fine =) ohhh and jennifer I'm a Davie student (Eny)
Once again congrats to everyone who has been accepted I am super happy for you all! I submitted my application in september 2010 for the fall 2011 with a 3.8 gpa. I chose the kendall campus because I want to apply for the baptist scholars. However I am getting super nervous and anxious, I see everyone getting accepted and I still have yet to receive a letter or anything! I called last week and they said they havent looked at my application yet because I still have Micro, stats and nutrition in progress, which I finished this semester. However when I applied in september they told me it was okay to apply while still having classes in progress.. any advice!! please help I am freaking out !!
May21 and everyone who wants to know about 1st semester:
My first semester of nursing school was fabulous! Yes, it is VERY tough, but totally doable! The only class you reallly need to study for is Physio. This class is very challenging! I want everyone of you to go in with an open mind bc the moment you start doubting yourselves, things go bad. Like I said, it is hard, and you will need to study ALOT but before you know it, its over and done with and your moving on!!! I had to study everyday, minimum 3-4 hours! I recommend you buy a recorder and record her lectures, it helps so MUCH! As for orientation, I was soo nervous I forgot all my forms lol. The good thing is they have all the forms you need. For orientation, go nicely dressed (business attire). NO jeans or flip flops! As for the baptst scholarship, my semester was not offered it unfortunatly. But I do know for yours it is being offered :-) Uniforms I ordered from novas website. Although to save money you can go to uniform advantage and but a real teal cherokee uniforom and have them embroid it. The font I believe is arial. the embroidery reads: Your name and on the second line NSU Nursing student. For the lab coat, dont worry about that too much now if you are short on money. It is not necessary until 2nd semester. My books I got on Amazon. The only book I really needed was my Physio book. Then again, its gonna vary from teacher to teacher. School will usually start the Monday right after orientation. ENJOY your time now because when you start, it will be study study study study lol. Dont worry about not knowing anyone, people are reallly frinedly in nursing school. You will meet people right away! Make sure to pick wisely for study groups! They will help alot. I went through my first semester with a wonderful group!!! Let me know if you need any help.
PS: ENY I have you on facebook lol!!
Im Jennifer P :-)
Thank You Nicole and Jennifer for your replies. Jennifer did you buy your books after you went to orientation or before? Online they have on the Nova's website the list of books but I did not know if to purchase them now before orientation or after. Do you have the website for the uniforms through Nova? Thank you very much for all your help!
CastG9-DOn't worry, applications are being processed. I think some of the students that are being chosen now were deferred from Winter. I had applied for WInter 2011 and deferred for Fall. I have been patiently waiting for their response and I finally got in. Be patient and stay positive. DOn't lose hope! :)
