Hey I'm new to this site, and was just curious how Nova's nursing program is. I just got accepted into the Fall 2010 nursing program at the main campus in Davie. Any advice on how it is? Did you feel prepared when you took your NCLEX after completing the 27 month program? Would love to hear from anybody. I'm so excited and cant wait to start in august! :)
Vaney21 we didn't use any access code for our class. We just registered for the website but if that access code gives more practice tests and reviews I would say to get it. The first test will be on 4 chapters so whatever will help you understanstand it will definitely be worth it.
Kevy, orientation is long because they will take you all to get your decals and nova ids. They will introduce you to all the faculty and tell you your consuelors and what to expect in the program. It is a long process. I would bring someone because its just not as fun without some support there. Trust me I know.
They didn't do that with my class but we had 200 students in our class. They might have changed it but I doubt it. I wished they had took us at least to the classrooms we have to go for that semester. Overall, the orientation is more informational than demonstration. you will get to eat breakfast with your fellow students and faculty. These will be the people you spend most of your time with for the next 2 1/2 years. Then those who haven't got their id and decals will be taken to get it taken care of. The others will be given a break and instructed to come back later at another auditorium for the conclusion of the orientation. At that time more specific information will be given. Each student will assigned to a counselor. That's how our orientation went. Like I said before, it will be best if you take someone with you for support. Best advice I can give is to enjoy that day. Its a reward for all the hard work done getting to that point. Best of luck.
Yes. Trust me you will definitely need that book. Do you have Thel**ll for math? If you do plan to write in the book. She likes to assign the chapter summary exercise for each chapter, and yes she does check your work. Don't take the math for granted. I know that it seems very simple but it will be the little details that get you.
Congrats to those accepted to Winter 2011!!! I will be a 2nd semester student in January at Kendall campus. For those of you coming in enjoy your vacation because, you will miss it dearly once you start.
Kevy: To orientation wear business attire with comfortable shoes since you will be wearing them for the whole day. Please make sure you do not wear sneakers or flip flops.
If you have an questions let me know =)

Congrats to the incoming class! I will be in the second semester in winter. As far as purchasing the international version, I had the international version of the physiology book and everything was fine. Make sure that the book has the same content word for words as the US version. I got mine from eBay and made sure that the listing had that disclaimer. My advice to you guys is to enjoy the rest of the time you have now because you will no longer have that in two weeks. Also, try to have fun throughout this whole process. A good sense of humor will get you so much farther. Enjoy and I will see some of you guys at the kendall campus.
