How is the BSN entry level program at Nova Southeastern University?

U.S.A. Florida

Hey I'm new to this site, and was just curious how Nova's nursing program is. I just got accepted into the Fall 2010 nursing program at the main campus in Davie. Any advice on how it is? Did you feel prepared when you took your NCLEX after completing the 27 month program? Would love to hear from anybody. I'm so excited and cant wait to start in august! :)

Congratulations on getting accepted into the program I cannot wait until I can be saying those words! I am finishing my last pre req and I have a few questions about the accetptance part of the program. I heard they only except 30 students each "cycle". Is that true? Do you have any tips on standing out to get in other than getting A's on your pre reqs? If you are in the program now how is it going? In particular the math part of it. Is it hard? Thank you!!

Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted to the program!!!!!!! I honestly will pray for everyone, and I wish everyone the best. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer. I have a 3.28 and have volunteer experience in a hospital. I'am also a MALE hoping and praying to get into the program. Do you think I have a better chance to get into the Kendall campus vs. the main campus b/c of my gpa? Any suggestions to other programs where I might have a better chance at? PLEASEEEEEE let me know b/c I am really anxious to start any BSN, RN or LPN programs.

Hey dolphn1005. Well...I got an interview the other day at the Kendall campus along with a classmate/friend of mine. I also have around the same GPA that you have and a couple hundred hours of volunteer work. I didnt think I would get a call/email because i know people have been accepted and interviewed but i did get a call to schedule an interview and i did!!! So with this said...I think alot of the people choosing their candidates for the BSN program not only look at grades. Basically, because everyone can have a 3.60 GPA, but they have to look more beyond grades to make their choice. I think the nursing school is looking for people with experiences! And how good they responded on their essays and definately the letters of recommendations! BIG PLUS. If your letter stands out from the rest because of volunteering work/projects and things like that, then i can tell you that you might have a chance. I wish you the best and pray for me too!

I am now waiting on their response and decision to see if i get into the BSN program. I want it so bad and have so much to give. I hope they were able to see that in my interview. Even though i wish they'd ask more questions at the interview so that they can get to know us a bit more. It was so fast and short i didnt even notice. Well let me know if you got in or not! :)

I agree with you! However, I think they look at everything as a whole. Not everyone can have a 3.6 gpa. It is definetley something they look at, however, I agree with you that they look at everything else. Especially, the interview!

However, the interview was way to fast! I felt like they didn't really get to know me. So I think it's probably a mixture of everything from grades to interview lol

I sound so repetitive but I got in last Tuesday for the Kendall campus and am so excited!

I'm sure you got in as well and hope to meet you at orientation!

Let me know when you hear from them! :yeah:

Hey guys so im the one that started this whole thread and just wanted to say NOVA is an excellent program. I just passed by boards with 75 questions and just got my first job! I highly recommend NOVA!. Its alot of hard work but it sure does pay off!!! Good luck everyone!

Hi nurse2b23, I just got asked to interview and take the Kaplan exam March 4th. I was wondering, how was your interview? Also, you didn't have to take the test correct? Lastly, were you working at all while you attended school? I'm on a very tight budget and everyone is saying that it is not a good idea to work while attending the nursing program but I really have to and thought maybe you can tell me if you see it being possible. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi! I know it has been a really long time since this blog was seen but I just decided to post here in case anyone could respond. I recently applied and got accepted to the BSN program at Kendall. I really want the Baptist Scholarship and I understand there is another interview for that. For those who had the interview, what did you feel made you stand out and what type of questions did you have to answer?

Hello everyone.. this is kind of late lol but I just came across this post while looking for advice.

I just got accepted into NOVA and I am extremely happy :sarcastic:

Any advice???
