How do you accept the fact you might not get in?

Something I was thinking about while having a conversation with my husband, and studying for a chemistry exam. How do you prepare for the fact that you might do all of this hard work and possibly not get in your program?

I'm not trying to be a negative nancy, I'm just wondering if anyone else has thought about it? I wouldn't really know what to do if I didn't get in.

We do have an ASN and BSN programs - I suppose if I didn't get into the ASN I would continue pre requisites to do the BSN. But even then, what do you do?

Do you, if it came to it, have a plan B?

Other than going for BSN pre requisites I don't.

I think of the fact that I won't get in sometimes. But when I think of that, I STUDY! You have to try to stay ahead of your competition when it comes to filling seats in the program. Make sure that you pay attention, get your sciences down, and study hard for any entrance exams. Above all, believe in yourself because if you dont you may accidentally begin limiting yourself. If i didn't get in I would analyze my weaknesses, utilize my sciences, and keep moving to a Bachelors of Biological Sciences in an attempt to pursue a career in medicine.

Good day:

You don't know until you give it 100%.

Give it the 100%, work through that doubt doesn't provide answers or positive energy.

Thank you.

My Plan B was to keep taking co reqs until I got in. I was on the alternate list once, didn't get in. Denied once. Then I got in. You don't need a plan B if you just keep trying. Good luck to you!

To be honest, I think about it all the time. I'm very optimistic that I'll get in for spring. However, I'm finishing all my pre reqs this fall, so if I don't get in, I'd reapply for summer semester and just take spring off, since I have nothing left to take! I really hope I don't have to do that, because whenever you take any break, the loan companies are attacking you wanting you to start making payments. Lol. Good luck to you!

My plan B turned into my plan A, go to school for LPN then bridge. It will take longer, but my first time at college in 1995 jacked up my GPA so much so that I will never get in otherwise.

I only think what if I dont get in tye first time i apply. im getting in somewhere at some point. That's a fact!!! Im just scared o wont get I in somewhere the first time im applying to schools.

My recommendations would be applying to more than one school and having a back up plan. Now hopefully I will never have to use the backup plan-but I have a rough idea of what to do just incase.

I'm applying to two different schools, and hopefully that will do the trick. But if it doesn't I'm not sure where I'll go.

As of now, I don't have a plan B so I'm working as hard as I can to be sure I do get in. Nothing is guaranteed but I'm trying hard to get into my current school because that's the only one I plan on applying to.

I'm scared to death I won't get in on the first try but if I keep up the good work I have faith that I will.

If I don't get in I'll take more classes to raise my GPA & do more volunteer work & apply the next semester.

I put all of my eggs in one basket, so to speak, and applied to only one program. My plan B was to, if I did not get in, complete a CNA course and hopefully get a job at a hospital nearby so I could work while reapplying to the program for the next semester. Thankfully I got in the first time around. :)

I was hopeful but did not get in my first app (only applied to one BSN school). So I looked at those pre-reqs and other point opportunities (my area uses a supp point system) and I did EVERYTHING on that list. Although I already worked at a hospital I applied to and served at the best internship/volunteer possible, although I took French, I went back and powered through 3 semesters of Spanish (it gave more points) over spring and summer semester, I also looked at on assist.org and found ANY class that I could sub for any grade in the general pre-reqs (not sciences, classes such as speech etc) that I did not have an A in. Lastly I studied the TEAS inside and OUT to raise my first score from a 78% to a second score of 91%. All the while working on a different degree.

Thank GOODNESS I got in my second time around! I had come to terms that I may not get in, but I love my current job at the hospital and knew I could do that and be happy.

It's true, maybe you don't get in. My pal is at that point where she does not believe it will happen for her because she has C's in 2 science classes. She has not taken the extra time like I did with the additional point opportunities. So is it possible to change your chances.... YES. I did! I didn't think it was even possible but it happenned.

Good luck to you!
