Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

So has it been determined that Methodist Sugarland really isn’t holding a cohort for the summer?

I still haven’t gotten a reply from them and also just received an email from Methodist TMC for prescreen interviews.

I’m bummed because Sugarland had the specialty I was most interested in.

On their page at the bottom is a place that says returning job seekers. If you set up an account it’ll take you to your log in and in there you can check job applications and other positions you’ve applied for.

I'm not sure, I've heard classmates say that they received invites to pre-screen for Sugar Land on Friday. I'm confused.

@SunshineNRainbows L&D. I got an email from Sugarland for the next application steps, but it says in bold at the top that they won’t be holding a cohort. So i’m confused too.

I’m assuming it’s not true since we received emails to interview and since there are actual GN positions open that you have to apply to that’s specific to Sugarland

Or it could be that certain specialties like L&D won’t be participating this cohort

I just rechecked, they are on the list, but Sugar Land only has 4 units listed...

Well for Sugarland they only offered mother/baby, so that was my first choice. That entire email they sent out was just confusing so I was just wondering if anyone else had updates.
