Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Anyone heard from Children’s MH? I applied to Children’s and MH the woodlands. I got a rejection email that wasn’t specific to a location, and shortly after I got an email saying my application was “submitted” for children’s (I submitted a few days prior to this). I’m confused, because my application status still says received for Children’s. Not sure if I was rejected to both locations or if I’m still being considered for children’s. Has this happened to anyone else?

I've heard back from Children's MH. Did you get an email requesting more information from you? Behavioral assessment, resume, rec letters, and your specialty choice?

MA8675309, I had the same thing happen. My second choice location says no long be considered and then Children's says submitted/received but the day it shows as submitted is off...? I did get and email requesting I complete a behavioral assessment as well as an email requesting I complete a nurse residency questionnaire upon completion of the behavioral assessment.

But you never received a rejection email? That might be the make or break for me, then.

No, I didn’t. I guess I should assume I didn’t get it, even though my Children’s application still only says received. I thought they’d change it to at least under review before they sent out rejections.

No, I haven't gotten a rejection email. I'm getting nervous though as I'm graduating with my ADN and what I've been reading so far is that Children's doesn't accept ADN's...

Which units did you guys apply for with Children's? I applied for L&D.

Do other MH locations have Match Day or is it just TMC? I was just wondering how the process for the others goes.

They each have a match day, but I think it's like the same day. I was told Saturday that you are only allowed to interview at 1.
