Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Hey guys I think I’ve applied everywhere, lol so far I received an invite for prescreening at Methodist sugarland for March 1st, I work for Memorial Hermann my internal application say under review, my Chi St Luke application says transferred to similar position so I’m thinking that the unit I chose is now reviewing it since I noticed that the recruiter added me on linked in, I talked to the VA about their residency I sent my resume and the coordinator told me she would put me on the list but I haven’t heard anything yet.

The time has come so fast. I have also applied for CHI St. Luke's, Harris Health, Houston Methodist, and Memorial Hermann.

I got invited to the prescreening but the email says Methodist Sugarland isn't hosting a cohort for GN summer 2019. so... does that mean no one is getting hired there anymore? cause i picked that location as part of my two choices

For Methodist, did you attach any letters of recommendations? And if you did, what did you put them under?

I was wondering about this too because Sugarland was my #1 choice. The email was very confusing. I just went back to the careers site and still applied for the jobs I was interested in.

So for those of you who heard from Methodist, was it an email from one location, or methodist hospitals in general regarding the pre-screening?

I received two separate emails one from my 1st choice another from my second, but the prescreening location and date is still the same

I got an email from methodist willowbrook for the prescreening on Friday

The email I received was from the Sugarland location for the prescreeing on Friday. TMC was my other choice, but I still haven't heard anything from them.
