Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

Just got the email from MH TMC stating I was not chosen for my first choice and if they are still accepting people/interviewing for the second choice I might hear back. They also wrote that the next cycle to apply begins May 16. Pretty bummed but oh well. 

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry! I am waiting for that email too, I haven't heard anything back from them. I didn't know they had a Summer residency program, maybe I'll apply for that one as well.

Today in my HM interview I asked if it was another one and she said they just do one and let you know by the end of the week!

Oh interesting! I thought that when they were done with all the prescreens they contacted you for a unit interview or something

I went into my interview with Hermann thinking it was a 2-1 interview. I lowkey panicked when 5 people jumped onto that video call ??

Did anyone interview with NICU or mother-baby at Children's MH? I'm so disappointed I didn't get an interview, but have seen very few people mention those two. Hoping they're just behind and maybe I will hear something still. ?

My applications say application received (unlike my MH one that I chose not to apply for, which says not under consideration).

I’m interviewing with children’s MH NICU tomorrow morning. But you’re right, I’ve seen very few people mention either of these units.

Just finished my pedi interviews with all 3 panels ? RCW, CCN and leadership! All had at least 3 people.

Heck yeah ! That and the fact that they asked questions that almost NONE of me and my friends had ever heard of before ???

You interviewed with PICU? What questions did they ask you? All the questions they asked me were basic interview Q's I've heard before
