Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

Published

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I am brand new to this site so I hope I'm doing this correctly... Good luck everyone!

For anyone still waiting on Harris health, they still going through applications

Has anybody done their IN PERSON interview for any of the Methodist locations yet? If so, how did it go?? I have mine Friday

There were four different people, managers from different Med Surg units. Relatively short process and no application questions for me. But I heard the ICU had asked a application question. I'm sure it varies by location and unit.

Do you know what the application questions were? What location did you do? Willowbrook? ALSO, did they say when you would hear back about an offer?

Oh interesting! I thought that when they were done with all the prescreens they contacted you for a unit interview or something

I had a pre-screen interview last Friday and they told me I would be contacted within the next week or two if I move on to the next round. I felt it went pretty well, but still haven't heard back. ?

Has anyone else had a pre-screen and then been contacted for a second interview from HM TMC?

I'm waiting to hear back from HM TMC as well, I don't think we will hear back until every single interview is finished and I know they were finishing them up this week - not sure which day. If anyone knows the last day of pre-screenings for TMC please let me know

Also, did they ask y'all for your top 3 unit choices at the end of your pre-screening too? I'm wondering how the recruiter/HR rep decides who gets their top choice or not. Or even how she decides who should get a second interview

I was told that we would hear back either way hopefully by April 1 if we get to go onto the next interview. That was for HM TMC

They asked me my top 3 as well. I also pre-screened for OR (honesty don't remember even applying for that one), but will not move on with them. The pre-screener told me she would recommend acute care for me since that is really my interest. THAT was a very odd interview. But oh well, acute care is really where I prefer to be!

I did my interview for MH TMC ICU today. They were really nice. Panel of 3. Asked normal questions why do you want to work here, why ICU, weakness, example of mistake and how you learned from it. It went so quick. She said maybe by the end of the week I should know ??

I had my med-surge interview with Methodist Baytown yesterday morning. It was just 20 minutes with a panel of 4 nurse managers. No clinical questions, just behavioral - very similar to the pre-screening questions. There were also questions about working nights, weekends, holidays, getting the covid vaccine, etc. There was time at the end to ask them questions, so make sure you come prepared with 2 or 3. They're doing more interviews this week and next week. They said they'd let me know in ~2 weeks.

Has anyone interviewed for MH Memorial City?
