Houston Nurse Residency Spring 2021

Hello! I created this thread for those graduating in December who are applying to nurse residency programs in Houston for the Spring 2021 start date. Good luck everyone!!

Does anyone know if TCH and HCA are going to put up residency applications? Also, has anyone heard anything from the programs that they have applied to? This wait is killing me!

Got an email today from Harris Health basically just confirming my application was received but it said the following:

  • ““If you are selected for an interview, an HR Representative will contact you by Thanksgiving regarding the next step.”  You will most likely receive additional emails, please disregard future emails requesting the HR Checklist. “

I heard that TCH is on a hiring freeze. I checked their website and never even saw a place to apply for the Residency Program. The wait is also driving me crazy!! I just want to know something. My St. Luke’s app says “Under Hiring Manager Review” and MH says “Application Under Review” for my 1st choice hospital. I feel that since it is now October, they will probably begin to reach out for interview scheduling.. or at least I hope.

I received the same thing but mine also says "please make sure all of your documents were attached". I don't know if that's a general email sent to everyone of if I have missing documents. I checked and rechecked and I have all the documents they asked for in that PDF packet!

Yes, mine said the same. I just included the part with the timeline since many of us are antsy. It seems like a generic email LOL you’re all good! They are my top choice so I’m hoping to hear from them sooner rather than later.

Congrats! Which location did you list as your 1st choice, if you don’t mind me asking?

I put the Greater Heights location as my 1st choice!

Yikes! feeling a little worried.

I never got the GN packet from Harris Health, so I just emailed them all the things they asked for on the website for the step two process. I sent it in one pdf document like the website asked for. 

I also applied to St Lukes, MH and Methodist. I've filled and submitted the survey to St Lukes, and I've also done the behavioural assessment from MH but I haven't heard back from Harris Health and Methodist.

Also since I never received a GN packet from Harris Health, I didn't know there was an essay so I never sent one ?
