  1. Just got mine today, its another short fairly generic email with a few more solidified dates, with info saying I will be contacted by recruiter soon and that they will email a link to complete the background check authorization form during the week of December 14th. They also asked about the NCLEX and about certifications like getting a copy of my BLS card. The email came from my on-boarding partner. I will be working in Neuro Acute Care at TMC.
  2. I'm in the Neurology dept, as a Neuro Acute Care RN resident, In my email I was directed to these two pages for benefits info and that my department manager would be able to give me more information. I was told we also start the residency in 8hr shifts and work our way to 12hr shifts. https://jobs.memorialhermann.org/benefits https://microsite.ehr.com/mhenrollment/
  3. At first (for every residency at MH) you'll see a new "application" come through aka your position in the program. Then you'll get the tasks (one of the tasks should be your offer letter) and a second email actual offer email with details for on boarding and some timeline dates coming up. Each dept. seems to go at their own pace, but I believe if you look at your offer letter in your tasks it says you have 72hrs to respond.
  4. Mine was 3.2 but I had good LORs and some previous experience, (I’m a second degree nurse) and I passed my NCLEX right before interviewing which may have helped. I think there was a wholistic view of the applications.
  5. My status never even changed to interview process it just went right from the application received to the offer status. But you know you’ll receive the offer email soon when you get a workday notification that a new “job application” was put through for the actual residency position. My offer was from Neuro Acute Care, I have yet to hear of any other residents for this unit! Yes in my interview with neuro acute care I was told that days/nights aren’t specified with the job offer and that they decided closer to the start I believe in February based on the needs of the depts
  6. I've received and submitted my written offer letter, but it doesn't specify day or night shift and says that any info about a differential from base pay is going to be "given from the manager directly." It's a fairly simple written letter just saying the unit, contract info and such, its only a total of 3 pages for me. Plus details about when background checks and on-boarding begins. The email they sent me says more info will come after I sign the paperwork. Also you have 72hrs to sign the papers once you receive them.
  7. Welcome! Curious if anyone was told if they were on nights or days? And if there is a pay differential for working at TMC vs greater houston area
  8. Started a thread for anyone who's accepting positions at Memorial Hermann so we can chat more:
  9. Hello everyone, just creating a thread for all of those accepted into the Spring cohort starting in February of 2021 at Memorial Hermann hospital. I was accepted into the Neuro Acute Care unit at TMC, if anyone else is please let me know!
  10. I just wanted to mention, in my interview I thought it would be nice to ask them some questions about the unit and hospital that were more out of the box. It seemed to help keep engagement and interest in the interview for what must be more monotonous for them. Some questions I asked: What QI (quality improvement) work are you doing on your floor? I see you're a level 1 trauma center, how does this affect interdisciplinary care in this unit? (aka do they have surgeons staffed 24/7 or are doctors mostly on call/who is the most senior staff) How does the unit flex if needed and do the nurses in your until hold extra certifications? Can nurse residents actively participate in meetings, or projects in the unit? (This was a follow up to the QI question.)
  11. Yup! TMC, in the interview they told me they haven’t specified day or night positions yet and so that’s up in the air.
  12. Just received a phone call for an offer from Memorial Hermann for the Neuro Acute Care unit! They said I should expect to receive my offer package on Monday with additional details for me to review and that I have 24hours to respond. The person in HR also said they start all new grads at $29 (Memorial Hermann @ TMC). So not sure if that includes differentials and such but again they said it will all be detailed in the offer email. I was also told I was taking one of only 6 positions offered in the Neuro unit. good luck everyone!
  13. Anyone do the phone interview for Houston Methodist @ TMC? I have my phone interview for the OR on the 27th so just trying to gauge what they’ll ask/next steps.
  14. Just finished my interview with MH TMC, for Neuro Acute Care. It lasted about 20ish min and had a total 3 (or 4) people, only one person in view of the camera but I think that was just related to lack of space to do the interview. They asked fairly basic questions, and one personal question (ex. describe myself in one word). I was told the normal turn around time is "quick, you'll get an email from HR within the next week max." They also said MH doesn't specify if they give you a day or night position until a little later depending on the needs of the hospital. It seems every unit has their own way of conducting the interview and asked different questions. Good luck everyone!
  15. “I received your information for the HMH OR nurse residency program. If you are still interested in the Jan 2021 OR residency program, there is a 20 minute pre-screening phone interview that must take place. Please select the date and time listed below for a phone screening interview.” That was the email I received. Again, no online portal just the email with a list of times to choose my time slot only via email. I send an email on Thursday with a time and was told it wasn’t available and to pick a second time. So I emailed back but haven’t heard back since Thursday night. Anyone think I should try calling or email again?
