Hi all,
I am starting my RN associates in Broward College, Fort Lauderdale, South Florida from jan 2010. Can someone please tell me about any companies or hospitals that can sponsor for my fee under the working contract. I am in States already.
In one sentence - "Bachelor degree is not required for a nurse to emigrate to the US". Plain and simple.
Will depend on which visa they plan upon using. If H1b then BSN is a minimum requirement unless I believe they have over 12 years of nursing experience. If immigrant requirement is usually 3 or more years training unless ADN is obtained in the US. Most countries nurse training will meet the US requirements as long as over 3 years.
but the issue will be as a ADN and not meeting requirements for a work visa and immigrant visa will take several years and can not stay in the US and work therefore not being a pessimist but realist taking into account what is currently happening. H1b is BSN or higher ADN is lower and therefore will not meet requirements. What other options are there??????
There are options, trust me. What you're talking about H1B is for BSN that is right, however, regular bedside nursing doesn't require BSN so only if the position requires a bachelor degree she can be requesting H1B, which is not the case in most nursing positions.
And also, the last of all possibilities and philosophical pondering: why doesn't she consider another country? Why US? The constant immigration problems, terrorism, border hostility, the amount of pollution and waste, the consumptionism... Is it all worth it... is it just about the money? Nurses are needed everywhere in the world.

I agree why the USA? however as a ADN there are less countries open to them than if they did the BSN. I know you do not need a BSN for the US however the training in general is supposed to meet similar or same as the country. A lot of provinces now in Canada require BSN as a minimum so not sure how that will equate to people who's training isn't BSN because they trained a long time ago, may be recognised but that will depend on the province. ADN is currently not recognised by the NMC in the UK
What evidence do you want? An RN in the US doesn't require bachelor's. In other countries BSN is the minimum requirement, that's why most immigrant nurses have bachelor degree.
I think you're missing the point that Ghillbert was trying to make. The evidence that Ghillbert was asking for is because Ghillbert was accused of being wrong and the other poster never provided as to why Ghillbert was wrong. The person just accused but didn't give any reasons as to why. The other poster said it was plain and simple but didn't wish to explain, so there's no credibility on what the other poster is saying. I can understand Ghillberts point, just explain why Ghillbert is supposedly wrong.
